http://newtojersey.blogspot.com/2007_02_01_archive.html
Tuesday, February 27, 2007. Cue Canon in D. Don't invite us to your wedding! That's not what I'm saying, it's what one Argentinian couple said in a paid newspaper advertisement a few weeks ago. I wonder if its going to have the opposite affect and they will have no social life now. I wonder if this is my "year of weddings." Five is quite a few for one year, and, even though the majority of my friends are unmarried, I don't see it getting beyond this. Maybe. It's interesting to see how friendships change ...

Stuff Indians Like: #170: Holding Hands
http://www.stuffindianslike.com/2008/04/170-holding-hands.html
Tuesday, April 8, 2008. Homosexuality probably does exist to some extent in India. With so many dance remixes, styles patterned on Bollywood. Open-toed shoes and silk, how can it not? In India, though, homosexuality is one thing, and holding hands is quite another. In many places throughout Asia, holding hands amongst men is considered a common demonstration of hetero friendship. Sunday, August 27, 2006. Being accepted as Americans. Sen Allen and Macacagate. Issue (especially his "Welcome to America" comment), sometimes you really wonder when we (as minority or immigrant communities) will be considered in the same light as our fellow Americans, on the basis of our citizenship, and NOT the color of our skin or our race. Here's a great op-ed by an Indian-American in the Washington Post discussing:. On Becoming A 'Real American' ". What do we do now? Posted by payal @ 12:32 PM.

Monday, February 27, 2006. Karma, Yoga, and Hip Mamahood. As I took in my daily dose of the Chicago Tribune online today(while procrastinating at work), I came across this interesting/weird article on the new moms of our generation. Now, I have very little knowlege about Yoga. And none about motherhood. But.I do like to think that I know a little bit being hip;), if I may say so myself. I mean, this could be us in 10 yrs! Some of the comparisions are actually funny:. Soccer mom . Carried a $30 Winnie...

New (on the) Jersey Shore: Driving in New Jersey
http://newtojersey.blogspot.com/2007/08/driving-in-new-jersey.html
Tuesday, August 28, 2007. Driving in New Jersey. The one thing I don't think I'll ever get used to is driving in this state. Particularly on the Garden State Parkway. The posted speed limit is 65. Now, I am not some sort of puritan who insists at going at or below the speed limit. I'll admit it, I'll sometimes push 5 to 10 miles over. You are nosing me to go faster when I am already going over the speed limit? As if your speed is the correct speed? It's okay to relax! Girltell me about it. i just mov...

New (on the) Jersey Shore: Say Chowda!
http://newtojersey.blogspot.com/2007/10/say-chowda.html
Monday, October 1, 2007. I did NOT go to the Chowderfest, despite looking forward to going to it all year, since I just missed it last year. I like Chowder. I would've enjoyed trying lots of different kinds of chowder. I had other things to do, which I will elaborate on in another post this week. What's the strangest festival you've ever heard of or attended? Most reporters I know don't like covering the festivals, etc, either, but I did. Hee. Talk about an easy story!
