Live, Love, Laugh: A Word For Each Year
http://jessv83.blogspot.com/p/a-word-for-each-year.html
A Word For Each Year. A Word For Each Year. Every year, a group of friends share their “word” for the coming year. A word that inspires us, that we can strive to, and lets us do some soul-searching of what we want. In 2010 my word. This has really been a year of counting my blessings. I am blessed with my loving, awesome husband. I am blessed with my amazing family. I am blessed with a baby girl growing inside me. I am blessed to live where I live. I am blessed with my friendly, wacky crazy doggy. I beli...

Live, Love, Laugh: Update on my weight loss mission
http://jessv83.blogspot.com/2015/07/update-on-my-weight-loss-mission.html
A Word For Each Year. Monday, July 27, 2015. Update on my weight loss mission. Lately it's been feeling as though I give one step forward, and two steps back, doing a horrible see-saw game with the scale - lose half a kilo, pick up half a kilo. Spend two weeks losing one kg, spend the next two weeks gaining that kg back. I did this post. And at the end of the day, that's what weight loss comes down to. eat less, move more! This weekend I got Wyn to take a progress piccie of me, in the same kind of pose a...

Live, Love, Laugh: The things I want my daughters to remember
http://jessv83.blogspot.com/2015/07/the-things-i-want-my-daughters-to.html
A Word For Each Year. Monday, July 20, 2015. The things I want my daughters to remember. It happens sometimes, when I'm doing something, like muttering " f#ckit. When I'm frustrated, saying " aaaaargh. Under my breath when I'm impatient, pouring a glass of wine at the end of the day, or reaching for another [and another] piece of chocolate, that I hear a voice inside my head saying, "they're watching, they're listening, they're remembering.". All the millions of hugs and kisses they get every day. How I ...

Live, Love, Laugh: Ella graduated from Moms&Babes yesterday!
http://jessv83.blogspot.com/2015/08/ella-graduated-from-moms-yesterday.html
A Word For Each Year. Thursday, August 6, 2015. Ella graduated from Moms&Babes yesterday! I started taking Ella to Moms&Babes classes last year, when she was 4.5 months old. Yesterday we completed the 3 terms - how quickly it went! Of course, don't forget tea time for the mommies afterwards too. We went to Tania who is in Centurion. She is such a fabulous, caring, special teacher, we're sure going to miss her. Have a squiz at their website. To find a branch near you! August 6, 2015 at 2:36 PM. Journey to...

Live, Love, Laugh: We made cloud dough!
http://jessv83.blogspot.com/2015/07/we-made-cloud-dough.html
A Word For Each Year. Friday, July 17, 2015. We made cloud dough! A couple of times, Mia and I have made "moon sand" - see my post about it here. Then I recently came across a slightly different version of it, this time called "cloud dough" - mostly the same ingredients as the moon sand, but then I specifically liked this recipe, Calming Lavender Cloud Dough. The idea to add some colour using crushed chalk, and lavender essential oil really appealed to me! Labels: Arts and crafts. July 17, 2015 at 6:43 PM.

Live, Love, Laugh: We made Moon Sand!
http://jessv83.blogspot.com/2013/02/we-made-moon-sand.html
A Word For Each Year. Monday, February 11, 2013. We made Moon Sand! This weekend we had some fun making moon sand. I got the idea from my friend Debs. And looked around on the internet for recipes, and came across two variants, of which Debs did the second one - which turned out to be the better one of the two! 4 cups play sand. 2 cups corn starch (I used Maizena). 8 cups of flour. 1 cup of oil (preferably baby oil, but I used sunflower oil). In it to make it sparkle. :-). Labels: Arts and crafts. Februa...

Live, Love, Laugh: The Sleep Issue...
http://jessv83.blogspot.com/2015/04/the-sleep-issue.html
A Word For Each Year. Monday, April 13, 2015. I haven't blogged much about how Ella sleeps. But now, I have quite a lot to say. Let this very tired, exhausted mama get her ramble on. She's 11 months and 3 weeks old, and with no "sleeping through the night" in sight for us yet. It's not ideal for me to keep her in bed with us. Mia often also still calls us over the monitor, or has dreams or coughs. The dog sometimes growls or wants to be taken out. Wyn and I get up and go to the loo. We sn...But oh my goo...

Live, Love, Laugh: Mia's first visit to the dentist!
http://jessv83.blogspot.com/2015/07/mias-first-visit-to-dentist.html
A Word For Each Year. Wednesday, July 8, 2015. Mia's first visit to the dentist! Yesterday Mia went to the dentist for the very first time! It was really important to me that she has a good introduction to dentist visits. that she gets eased into it, that everything gets explained properly to her, and that it is a happy and stress-free experience. I made use of good-old trustworthy Google, and did a search for child friendly dentists in Pretoria or Centurion. I came across Wiggly Teeth. When we arrived, ...

Live, Love, Laugh: A teething, clingy toddler stage...
http://jessv83.blogspot.com/2015/08/a-teething-clingy-toddler-stage.html
A Word For Each Year. Wednesday, August 12, 2015. A teething, clingy toddler stage. I want to blog about these difficult times too - things aren't always all smiles and fun and happy moments. and these hard times form part of the memories, and I know that it becomes a blurred memory in time, but being right in the middle of it, man, it's tough! I did a blog post about Ella's sleep here,. When she was almost a year old. Now, at 15.5 months, it is still very much hit and miss! I do my best to just go with ...
