鶴ヶ島千人同心行列・鶴ヶ島市桜まつり（埼玉県鶴ヶ島市・八王子千人同心）

千人同心は、江戸時代に、八王子千人町及びその周辺に住む千人同心を指し、天正十年 １５８２ 甲斐の武田氏が滅亡時、筋奉行 国境警備隊長 九人が、部下三百人余りを連れて、徳川氏に臣従したことによる。 そんな 徳川のお抱え百姓 が、日光東照宮周辺の火番役を仰せつかり、寛文二年 １６６２ には頭一人 同心五十人が、半年交代で 十か年に一度ずつ 日光に勤務することになり、毎年旧暦五月二十五日と十一月二十五日に八王子を出発した。 この 鶴ヶ島千人同心行列 は、古く日光街道(鶴ヶ島中学校前の通り、ソメイヨシノが数多く見られ、別名 日光脇往還 、 千人同心街道 と呼ばれております を歩いた千人同心に思いを馳せ、また鶴ヶ島市民がそれを祝い、楽しみ、そして時代を担う子供達に伝統の重みを伝えるべく、昭和６０年、当時の石井喜八郎町長が、町制二十周年記念事業の一環として開催された 鶴ヶ島市桜まつり の最大の催し物として始めたものです。 鶴ヶ島中学校前のサクラ並木にて 鶴ヶ島市桜まつり が毎年４月初旬に開催、その一部に 鶴ヶ島市若手経営者の会 の会員が 千人行列 として参加しました。
