Well a freind needed to pick up a car in Eagle River, Alaska so we decided to walk from girdwood through the popular crowpass to eagle river traverse trail. It's about 26 miles or so and we took our time and spent one night out on the trail. Saw 3 living bears, 1 dead bear, many dall sheep and a mountain goat or two. Here are a few photo's from along the way. Hiking up to crow pass, still a fair amount of snow. Hiking up towards the pass. The Crow pass Forest Service Cabin. Raven Gorge bridge and falls.

Got sent to Idaho for a fire tour. Well fire season is here again and we got sent to a fire in Idaho about 4.5 hrs west of Missoula MT. Didn't really see that much action but we had a good crew and made the best of it. After 17 days the crew clocked 270 hrs. Don't fear we're on our way! Paragliding in Australia - Part Two. They say paragliding is not a sport but a lifestyle and never ending search for flyable conditions. After looking at my photo's I realized that over half were of paragliding or the search for the right conditions to fly. Flying into Coghill Lake cabin for a day trip. Leaving Lake Hood and midtown Anchorage. Cool light flying down along the Seward highway along Turnagain Arm. Here is Portage Glacier. The main way to see it now is by taking a 2 hour boat ride tour. You can see the boat on the lake in front of the glacier for scale. The boat is 80 feet long and holds 200 passengers. Monday, April 7, 2008. Work, sick, work, sick. I was in Hawaii? Can I go back. Life has been busy. I nursed a cold upon my return from Hawaii and I've been nursing it ever sense. Although I do have to say I'm finally feeling better. Work is going well. Busy. I work on Sundays. Yuck. Exciting things in my life:. Monday, September 22, 2008. Welcome Autumnal Equinox. We've got fresh snow creeping down the mountains. And I wish we'd see it sooner everywhere. Tuesday, May 27, 2008. Memorial on the Kenai. How wonderful is it to take a break and spend time with friends doing fun stuff? Very wonderful. The weekend started off rainy but pulled through with some glorious sunshine in the end. Friday night, Stacy and I headed to the AWA. Saturday was a slow start and the rain outside didn't help in the motivation department. We were anxious to see if our FWK. So this usually ridiculously busy place was pretty mellow. We were very proud of our FWK.
