Walking in Austin: October 2009
http://ipsofactoaustin.blogspot.com/2009_10_01_archive.html
Wednesday, October 28, 2009. The End of It for the Evolution. This is a departure from myself. Rather, this is the piece that I am entering into the Austin Makes a Book collaboration. Today I am a writer. Today is a good day. Yesterday I was your loving wife. Yesterday was a bad day. I will start in the middle for you. We start in the middle of everything. There is no beginning. There is an end, but we don’t remember it. Is moving forward just, easier? That is the beauty of life. I know you are confused ...

Advice for ACL Festival. Connecting Musicians and Fans. Navigating Through Band Camp. No reviews, no ratings, no pretense to discussing music. Connecting Musicians and Fans. MySpace and Facebook are weak ways for bands and musicians to connect with their fans because they aren’t designed to maintain a strong connection between musicians and fans. Why can’t MySpace see that little changes aren’t going to meet the need? The fan’s web site. First is the profile. Second will be the fan lists. Music reviews w...

Walking in Austin: Thank you; my audience
http://ipsofactoaustin.blogspot.com/2010/04/thank-you-my-audience.html
Wednesday, April 28, 2010. Thank you; my audience. Retreats allow us to re-assess why. Why? Now that is a troublesome word that is rooted with the notion of doubt. But, have you noticed, when you don’t ask yourself, why, life is working. The moments we remove judgment or explanation are the happiest. But, anxiety is sparked by a doubt that is buried rather then dealt with. It buries itself with the other unsatisfied dreams simply waiting for the moment of freedom when all appears lost. Keep it going....

Walking in Austin: March 2010
http://ipsofactoaustin.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html
Sunday, March 28, 2010. 8220;It sounds like rehab.”. I have mastered the skill of parallel parking. Ok, maybe not mastered, but I have become very good. This is my third lap. Do I need to go another block over? Why are so many people driving? I wonder what’s for dinner this evening? What I was pretending that wasn’t happening in my life? And most importantly, how confident I was during each of the episodes that I documented. When was my existence in Austin no longer a vacation but transitioned into the t...

Walking in Austin: January 2010
http://ipsofactoaustin.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html
Friday, January 22, 2010. The title of this blog is “Walking in Austin.” Over the past week I have rediscovered this art that was so motivating that it became the name for the medium in which I am the most honest with myself. Yes, yes he was. Now that I see him everyday I wave and nod. He smiles and returns the karma, rides right on by grinning like a child. I started this post with the importance of walking. It is a meditative activity that allows me to leave this world the better. I have patter...Moral...

Walking in Austin: New Beginnings
http://ipsofactoaustin.blogspot.com/2010/02/new-beginnings.html
Friday, February 5, 2010. It’s been so long since I have looked at this blank page and let my fingers dance along the keyboard. This is being written in the very early moments in the morning as the brain is humming through so many possibilities it feels like a match book in the hands of groom to be as he ponders if this is what he thought it would all end up like. Rather than bore you with the many details and just how they unfolded. Without placing judgment on any other party than my own. See, here is w...

Walking in Austin: Off the Radar.
http://ipsofactoaustin.blogspot.com/2010/04/off-radar.html
Tuesday, April 20, 2010. The weekend with the folks off of the radar. What I have found is that it is never in the product of the action, but in the attempt. Getting a college degree was supposed to solidify my future. It was the lynchpin in whatever it is that I was to do. I was always the youngest and “wise for my age.”. A quick overview is in order. Friday: Billiards and chess. I am pretty talented at one, pretty terrible at the other, both equally as fun. I am becoming heavily involved with an amazin...
