DIY: Turning Old Valentine’s Cards into Cute Notes. July 20, 2014 at 11:46 pm ( Life. This year I ended up with an extra box of those perforated valentine cards. I didn’t want to throw them away but I also did not want to hold them until next February! So, I decided to repurpose them into cute notes.🙂 Below is a very simple way to turn valentine cards into small notes (the perfect size for CPO (college mail)! 1 Gather some paper (card stock is good), glue (or tape), scissors, and some old valentine cards.

May 10, 2014 at 8:00 am ( Life. Maybe it wouldn’t be at 4am, I’ll admit that’s a tad early unless I plan on going to bed at 8. I have been thinking recently of the necessity of getting more sleep and moving my sleep schedule back a couple of hours, so this gives me a tiny reason to give it a go this summer. Side story: This morning it poured rain and I didn’t have time to take the tunnels to class. Why not? Plus: it’s spring here now and all the flowers are blooming! The trees we have on campus, let me s...

A first-time father's thoughts, experiences and opinions with a few funny discoveries along the way. The “debut dad” project. My name is Brendan and I was born and raised in Sydney, Australia. I have been happily married now for almost 3 years to a woman who has taught me more than I could ever learn from school, university or even self-help books! She helped me discover myself and without sounding too clichéd, she makes me a better man. Suddenly it hit me, I am now a full-time dad! Thanks for stopping b...

Sundries and Curiosities for the Adventurous. A Tribal Inquiry. Yoga from the Heart. There is nothing more revealing than an ‘about’ page with a checklist of likes and dislikes. I will allow those things to unfold as I surface bit by bit, in layers. As a quiet and reflective artist and yogini, I continually seek to understand the aesthetics of authenticity (if there is such an ideal) through gratitude, service, curiosity, creativity, beauty, and compassion. In his prayers, to be so kind as to spare him.

75% self-consciousness, 25% serious business. Please stop damaging my face, if you don’t mind. March 16, 2012. October 26, 2014. Every now and then, university teaches me about concepts that are not currently in mainstream use, but really should be. Take the linguistic concept of face. For example. Not only is it applicable to many real-life situations, it’s also a lot of fun to tell people they’re hurting your negative face. Ever wondered why people say, It’s quite chilly in here, isn’t it? Is the desir...
