Nicole in the U.A.E. Sunday, April 21, 2013. Went up to Dubai again last weekend to see a Flamenco show. We stopped at the bird refuge along side the highway and got a glimpse of the flamingos. Unfortunately the refuge was closed so I want to go back when it’s open for a closer look….it’s right on the highway so very easy to get to on the way into Dubai. Wednesday, July 21, 2010. So, it's the rainy season here in Puerto Vallarta but that sentence doesn't really convey what's happening on a daily basis. We've got an exciting new sport in white water rafting except there's no raft and it takes place in all the downtown roads which flood up to and over the sidwalks. Nicole in the U.A.E. Sunday, September 15, 2013. So I'm back home after a great summer. I spent a week in Luxumbourg and then the rest in Canada with family. Had a good time in both places but it's nice to be back in my own bed. While I was home, I tried to talk some family members into coming for a visit. Monday, April 12, 2010. I'm on my way back to Vancouver tomorrow but I've had a great few days in southern Florida. Friday, December 24, 2010. I spent the day in the famous Torres Del Paine Park. I was going to spend a couple of days and do some easy hiking but the weather didn’t co-operate and I just went the one day. It’s an incredible place with over 200kms of trails and views that just don’t stop. Started out looking at Los Torres. Saw some really cool animals like the flightless nandu, a relative of the ostrich and who, according to locals, produces delicious eggs that are the size of a dozen chicken eggs.
