http://njospreyproject.blogspot.com/2014/02/first-install-of-2014.html
New Jersey Osprey Project. Monitoring, managing, and supporting New Jersey's ospreys. Tuesday, February 4, 2014. First install of 2014! This first install will provide a safe place for a pair of ospreys to nest inside Great Bay Blvd WMA. Volunteers (at least 6 are needed) will need to bring knee boots, hip or chest waders to wear and a pair of work gloves. We'll meet near the end of the road. You'll see the platform staged along the side of the road. If you'd like to help, please RSVP to Ben Wurst.

New Jersey Osprey Project. Monitoring, managing, and supporting New Jersey's ospreys. Tuesday, July 8, 2014. So hard for me to believe that we're already into the second week of July! Every one of my posts here mention how I neglect this blog. :( But I know it gets traffic, so I hate to take it down. I post more to my New Jersey Osprey Project Facebook page. Then I do here. I find it to be an easier way to engage fellow osprey fans. I hope you'll check it out if you're on there! New Jersey Osprey Project.
New Jersey Osprey Project: Old man winter
http://njospreyproject.blogspot.com/2014/01/old-man-winter.html
New Jersey Osprey Project. Monitoring, managing, and supporting New Jersey's ospreys. Thursday, January 30, 2014. A nice coating of ice and snow on the coastal saltmarsh and Absecon Bay. Ospreys will remain on their wintering grounds for at least another 6 weeks or until mid-March. Most spring migration occurs in late March. For now you can follow one bird (C2) from Jamaica Bay, New York who is wearing a satellite backpack and wintering in Venezuela. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). NJ Meadowlands Com...

New Jersey Outdoors: January 2010
http://newjerseyoutdoors.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html
Thursday, January 21, 2010. Soaking in the first bit of morning light, we started down the Saw Mill Creek Path from Disposal Road. It wasn't long before we heard an odd sound coming from just up ahead. Soon enough we located the silhouette of a bird perched on one of the high tension wire bases. As it turned its head, we could make out the hooked beak and knew it was going to be a good morning. As we continued walking more and more duck species started popping up. Northern Shoveler and Green-Winged T...

New Jersey Outdoors: March 2010
http://newjerseyoutdoors.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html
Thursday, March 25, 2010. Wild parakeets in New Jersey. Believe or not, there are wild populations of Monk Parakeets living in the Garden State. These birds were released in New York in the middle of the last century, spread into the suburbs, and have somehow managed to survive the winters and continue to reproduce successfully for the last 50 or 60 years. Tuesday, March 16, 2010. While many eyes and binoculars will be pointed toward the sky in anticipation of spring migration, another type of migration ...

New Jersey Outdoors: Jersey Fresh!
http://newjerseyoutdoors.blogspot.com/2010/06/jersey-fresh.html
Tuesday, June 8, 2010. The 2010 growing season has already begun for most New Jersey farms, and there are plenty of opportunities to reap the delicious rewards! It's too late to purchase a CSA share (check out our food blog at Party of Two. For updates on our Honeybrook Organic Farm CSA) - but there are plenty of other ways to join in on the Garden State's rich agricultural tradition. Photo by Chuck Walker (c) 2007. New Jersey Outdoors: February 2010
http://newjerseyoutdoors.blogspot.com/2010_02_01_archive.html
Thursday, February 25, 2010. Yup, that's right. As of this posting, more snow is falling throughout the Garden State. The Revenge of Snowmageddon, Snowpocalypse: Redux, or whatever you might call it - the snow is back for another round. That will probably mean driving through some slush, shoveling out some driveways and sidewalks, and brushing off cars. It can also mean tons of fun, though! Six-year olds. Sheesh. The snow and ice also grant some great opportunities for photography. Bundling up and drinki...

http://newjerseyoutdoors.blogspot.com/2009_10_01_archive.html
Thursday, October 29, 2009. We decided to add some great-looking green beans to our purchase. Yesterday Elizabeth cooked them with some garlic and we had them with dinner. Mmm mmm mmm. Thursday, October 22, 2009. Sage Thrasher moves on. Prior to this week, only three known Sage Thrashers had ever visited the Garden State. On Tuesday, Sandy Hook welcomed the fourth. Bob Devlin (c) 2009. Let's all remember that these birds are often stressed and should be given plenty of space. If you are approaching t...

Endangered New Jersey: A Manatee Visits the Delaware River
http://endangerednj.blogspot.com/2015/08/a-manatee-visits-delaware-river.html
Monday, August 3, 2015. A Manatee Visits the Delaware River. Many New Jerseyeans journey to Florida in the colder months, but it is unusual for endangered manatees to visit us in NJ during the summer. But last week, one did decide to visit the Garden State area. New Jersey Fish and Wildlife officials confirmed that they spotted the large marine mammal last Tuesday near the I-295 bridge and Crosswicks Creek in Bordentown City.
