Of Malt and Marrow. A foray into all things homebrew. Friday, March 1, 2013. Needing to seriously keep up with this thing. If for no other reason than to have my recipes in cyberspace in case my hard drive crashes (again). I recently decided to brew something relatively simple for St. Paddy's (Thanks to the commenter Smarte). No green beer. No nitro stouts. Batch Size (Gal): 12. Total Grain (Lbs): 25. Anticipated OG: 1.056. Anticipated FG: 1.012. Boil Time: 60 Minutes. 2000 lbs. Golden Promise.

http://maltmarrow.blogspot.com/2013_12_01_archive.html
Of Malt and Marrow. A foray into all things homebrew. Saturday, December 14, 2013. Tasting - Solera 2013. I'll admit something without a problem - I am not the best brewer in the world. I'm good. Better than most. Surprising even to myself at times, but I am not the best. There are beers I make though that I could live with for the rest of my life. This seems like it is one of them. Problem is I only have 50-some-odd bottles left. Guess I'll enjoy it while it lasts. Thursday, December 12, 2013. Color was...

Of Malt and Marrow. A foray into all things homebrew. Wednesday, December 28, 2011. Parti Time APA - Tasting. Back from a long spell of beer drinking and not writing about it. Holidays will do that to you. Here is the first of many tasting notes I have to put up. Was half of the second runnings of 'Pound It', a massive Belgian DIPA. Drinkability and notes - I could drink this all day. I'm even more stoked about it seeing as it was leftovers and was the first parti-gyle recipe. I'll be doing more ...This ...

Of Malt and Marrow: January 2012
http://maltmarrow.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html
Of Malt and Marrow. A foray into all things homebrew. Saturday, January 14, 2012. Parti Time Brown Ale. Was experimentation at its finest. I had no idea what to expect. The only thing to guide us was the BJCP guidelines.which we only took as reference points. I still dont know what to classify this beer as, but I want more of it. Smell - Typical Brit phenols paired with coffee and chocolate and a bit of that woody hop aroma so prevalent in Willamate. Drinkability and notes - I'm digging this beer a lot&#...

Of Malt and Marrow. A foray into all things homebrew. Monday, March 19, 2012. It has been a while since I updated, but not from a lack of desire. Spring has sprung ridiculously early here in Nashville and we've been ridiculously busy getting the yard ready. So is life. I've been loving this beer lately and will be making it again for sure. I'll post about the other half of the batch, fermented on Wyeast London III.a very different beast, sometime this week. Here are the notes -. Taste - There is a lot go...

Of Malt and Marrow. A foray into all things homebrew. Sunday, December 1, 2013. Fallen On Mild Times - Dark Mild. My blog writing is a joke. Life gets in the way. A friends hard drive crash recently has made me remember the benefit of having recipes in a public domain. Plus, there is the benefit of putting what I am doing out there for the good of those who like me so often are in search of an idea. Batch Size (Gal): 11. Total Grain (Lbs): 2. Anticipated OG: 1.052. Anticipated FG: 1.010.

Of Malt and Marrow. A foray into all things homebrew. Friday, September 30, 2011. First Gold - SMaSH ESB. I think it all stems from the (disappearing.due to the poor world economy) pub culture where social drinking over extended periods of time while rationally communicating are the lifeblood of society. I really, really wish the same could be said for the US, but alas you can't have it all. Batch Size (Gal): 5 gal. Anticipated OG: 1.053. Of Malt and Marrow. A foray into all things homebrew. Tuesday, October 11, 2011. King Sorachi Saison - Tasting. About time I start posting photos! I get impatient to start tasting whatever has been recently bottled just to see if it is any good. This is a particular problem when I find myself with only big beers in the cellar to drink. Being that my King Sorachi. Was fermented with the fast and voracious Wyeast French Saison yeast I figured it was time to try this. Drinkability and Notes - Clocking in at...
