Holly Cooks: Thai Pot Pie
http://cookingholly.blogspot.com/2010/11/thai-pot-pie.html
Monday, November 15, 2010. About a year ago, I made a Curry-Kaffir Lime Chicken Pot Pie, out of Bistro Laurent Tourondel: New American Bistro Cooking. A fabulous cookbook that has been my favorite lately). The pot pie was delicious, and I'm not sure why it took me a whole year to make it again (maybe because it's not a quick, easy, healthy midweek meal), but when our friends Mike and Raquel came to dinner last weekend, I took the opportunity to make it again. With a few changes. 2 tablespoons finely chop...

Holly Cooks: Monterey Weekend
http://cookingholly.blogspot.com/2012/03/monterey-weekend.html
Wednesday, March 14, 2012. We took a short weekend jaunt to Monterey over President's Day weekend back in February. Aunt Kelly joined us so Scott and I could sneak away for a romantic dinner for two. But the main reason for the trip was the aquarium! Now that Jaynie is one, it is so fun to go places with her. She loves to watch everything going on around her, and is so excited to see new things. At the aquarium, she was ecstatic! Pretty much her face the whole time at the aquarium. Oopslost me shoe Daddy.

Holly Cooks: Linguine with Cacio e Pepe
http://cookingholly.blogspot.com/2012/04/linguine-with-cacio-e-pepe.html
Sunday, April 29, 2012. Linguine with Cacio e Pepe. Oooh, a food post! Last weekend, after Jaynie was sound asleep, Scott and I broke out our cast iron skillet, some fresh scallops, and dried pasta to whip up this amazing dinner. I was in charge of the linguine, and Scott threw together a quick lime-butter sauce for the scallops (I'd like to point out that the lime-butter scallops were my idea.I was the creative genius, and Scott was solely my kitchen minion). I just whipped it up! 1 pound dried linguine.

Holly Cooks: Stocking Up for Baby
http://cookingholly.blogspot.com/2010/10/stocking-up-for-baby.html
Saturday, October 23, 2010. Stocking Up for Baby. I took a cue from the cookie dough and froze the pesto in ice cream scoops too. I will let you know this winter how user-friendly that has turned out to be! For the tomato sauce, I measure 1 cup servings and used the Food Saver to vacuum seal in plastic bags. Easy and ready to defrost and toss on some noodles when the baby is crying. Here's the recipe for the easiest tomato sauce. Scott taught me how to make this years ago, and I love it! As for pesto, Il...

Holly Cooks: Open Faced Summer Tomato Sandwich
http://cookingholly.blogspot.com/2010/09/open-faced-summer-tomato-sandwich.html
Thursday, September 9, 2010. Open Faced Summer Tomato Sandwich. Now is the time to indulge in summer tomatoes! In my opinion, they are always the best in late summer/early fall. If you don't have a garden to feed your tomato hunger, then head over to your local farmer's market to pick up some beauties. Open-Faced Summer Tomato Sandwich. Four 1-inch slices of crusty white bread (rustic sourdough, ciabatta, etc.). 1 garlic clove, peeled. 2 ounces thinly sliced prosciutto. Preheat the broiler. Broil the...
