NODEFORM: Morganite Tetra Palladium Ring
http://nodeform.blogspot.com/2013/10/morganite-tetra-palladium-ring.html
Morganite Tetra Palladium Ring. Last week this trillion Morganite ring in palladium sold and got finally completely finished up. I will miss this little sparkler. So sad that I don't have another gem like this. I will keep my eyes open if another nice trillion Morganite will cross my path again. I also got a new Camera last week :-D. It does have video too, but I am not sure yet when I will use that. Well, it's good to have it as an option. 171; Older Post. Stone Setting Workshop at New Approach School.

Carving a Bezel Setting in Wax. In this post I want to show the first steps in making a ring with a bezel setting for a 5.5 mm square cushion cut Moissanite. The image below is a rendering done in CAD that shows the simple design for this ring setting. I start most of my ring carvings by slicing off a section from a wax rod with a back saw in a miter box. The thickness of the band gets marked on the rod by scraping a line with dividers. At this point I rather make the slice a bit thicker than req...For t...

Weekend fun with 3D prints. Guess what I m doing this weekend? Got a box full of goodies from Shapeways containing 3d prints of some of my Brooch a a Week. So this weekend I will play with some of these and try to attach brooch findings in some way or the other to make them wearable. Should be fun. Here a few in more closeup:. 3d prints in white and coral red nylon of BAD-42. And simple variations of BAD-53/54. These are 3d prints from my virtual BAD-10 to 24 "Hex Space Rails". Halo's and Flying Saucer Rings. I had this idea in my head for a while to do some halo design inspired rings. I finally carved a couple wax models for these new design prototypes. The halo tops were turned on a Foredom lath and then attached to stubby prongs on a hand carved rounded ring band. This gives it a "flying saucer just landed on a ring" look :). Wax model of Halo ring with moissanite. Side view showing the elevated Halo top. Underside of Halo ring. Halo ring for unusual black needle quartz.
