Jul 21st, 2011 at 2:35 PM. Why the hell haven’t they shot the gun already? And my heart would begin pounding and immediately I would think something like, Why am I doing this? Maybe I should join the Drama club, and suddenly the gun would go off, reverberating through my ears, and I would think, Shit! What are you doing? They put their necks underneath each of your arms and help to carry you off to the sidelines. The doctor will tell you later that it is an avulsion fracture a break that occurs when a fr...

50 Writing Tips - Bryan Young - Optimistic by Force
http://createdestiny.livejournal.com/295592.html
50 Writing Tips - Bryan Young. Mar 16th, 2013 at 11:58 AM. Use the time of a total stranger in such a way that he or she will not feel the time was wasted. Give the reader at least one character they can root for. Every character should want something, even if its just a glass of water. Every sentence should do one of two things - reveal character or advance the action. Start as close to the end as possible. No one likes to read large blocks of text, keep action to one or two lines but no more than four.

I don't know a whole lot about Bolivia - The Ugly Volvo
http://theuglyvolvo.livejournal.com/238646.html
I don't know a whole lot about Bolivia. Aug 16th, 2011 at 4:59 PM. If you had asked me 24 hours earlier what the Bolivian flag looked like I would have shrugged my shoulders and said, I have no idea. I knew that Argentina’s flag is light blue and white stripes (like their soccer uniforms) with a sun in the center and I know that Brazil’s is green, with that yellow diamond holding some sort of planet full of stars. But Bolivia I had no idea. And that is when someone starts blowing a whistle.

Aug 30th, 2011 at 4:39 PM. You can bring the dog and be home by 5:30. I do not want to be a Spa Coordinator at a high end medical spa and I do not stand a chance applying to KOREAN SPEAKING FEMALE F/T OFFICE ASSISTANT. I see little future as an Egg Donor or a dog walker on the Upper East Side (1 year commitment! Or as someone who could Get Paid to Evaluate Banks! Biting my lip with uncertainty I paste my resume into the body of an e-mail. 7 comments Leave a comment. Aug 30th, 2011 09:10 pm (UTC). Somewhe...

Covers as Windows into Musicians' Psyches... - Pulling Out The Savoy Truffle

Covers as Windows into Musicians' Psyches. - Pulling Out The Savoy Truffle. Covers as Windows into Musicians' Psyches. Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, "Feel a Whole Lot Better". Bob Lefsetz, that erstwhile critic of the music scene (whose musical talent is, by his own admission, mastery of playing - the radio, cd player, iPod, etc.) has recently savaged James Taylor. Taylor probably admired and played for himself over his decades long career. Run, Devil, Run. This topic begs for some discussion of great...

Dead Rock Stars Shine Again. - Pulling Out The Savoy Truffle. Dead Rock Stars Shine Again. George Harrison, "All Those Years Ago". A British tabloid recently conducted a survey to find out which dead rock star the public would most like to see brought back for "one show, one show only." Here are the results:. 11 Stevie Ray Vaughan. 1) Karen Carpenter IS NOT a rock star. She has a pleasant enough singing voice, but she doesn't belong on this list. I mean, really. 2) John Bonham is a. ljidol, preoccupied - not as a ladder from earth to heaven
http://liret.livejournal.com/284245.html
It is their care. Not as a ladder from earth to heaven. Feb 20th, 2012 at 7:24 PM. It starts with something simple. I'm hungry. I should see what I want to make for dinner. So I start looking up recipes. I find an interesting nutrition blog, and then read someone's comment about having cupcakes confiscated by the TSA. I wonder if TSA agents get to eat the food they confiscate? I wonder how people become TSA agents, anyway? I bet the shipping and handling is a pain. I wonder if I could grow coffee beans?

RIP Steve Jobs - grendel1031. October 5th, 2011. Steve Jobs has joined The Greats Who Have Left Us. He leaves an indelible mark on our cultural history. He founded a religion based on the idea that "You shouldn't need an advanced degree to operate this powerful machine". For that alone, he deserves reverence. This attitude has never impressed me. Had it been "What can we do together? It's not clear. Perhaps he followed George Steinbrenner's maxim that "if you tell people you're giving, you're doing i...

The Peace of Wild Things | Wendell Berry - Optimistic by Force
http://createdestiny.livejournal.com/293130.html
The Peace of Wild Things Wendell Berry. Feb 6th, 2013 at 8:41 PM. The Peace of Wild Things. When despair for the world grows in me. And I wake in the night at the least sound. In fear of what my life and my childrens lives may be. I go and lie down where the wood drake. Rests in his beauty on the water, and the great heron feeds. I come into the peace of wild things. Who do not tax their lives with forethought. Of grief. I come into the presence of still water. And I feel above me the day-blind stars.
