I made some miniature cameos shaped prints while on a residency in Hawaii and liked the notion that you could carry the object with you like a touchstone which held talismanic qualities.I researched Victorian mourning jewellery and curio and I began. Working on small prints and incorporating found objects. The resulting artwork reflects on the transitory and fleeting nature of life and allude to notions of the intimate and precious.

This work seeks to capture the spirit of the present time, evoking Ireland’s economic and social turbulence in both the rural and urban landscape. Trapper II. The concept focused on the impermanent , that life is a cycle, and this time of national and global upheaval will also pass, things will mutate, alter and transform.

My recent work is introspective, a response to the mystery of death and loss. The images reflect on the transitory and fleeting nature of life, they are in themselves ephemeral. Nature plays a dominant role; the forest is a reoccurring motif. This large looming present is at times dominant and ominous and at other times a place of refuge and solitude where one is enshrined in the teeming vibrancy of nature.

Eine Woche ist schon wieder vorbei! Ich habe vor hier auf dem Blog ein wenig zu verändern, hoffe das schaffe ich diese Woche trotz Thanksgiving noch! Meine Einträge werden ab jetzt unterteilt sein in: meine Woche, Wochenende und Aktivitäten mit den Kinder, da ich denke, dass letzteres gerade für andere Au Pair interessant sein könnte! Montag habe ich mir den Dokumentarfilm Jiro Dreams of Sushi angeschaut, der ist echt wirklich schön (Unbedingt ansehen! Mittwoch sind wir beiden dann zu Walmart und Target.
