East Coast and Road Trip. I visited Malawi as part on an overland trip in 1998, hence why the photos are low quality. This was back before digital cameras and I had only just signed on to this fancy thing called email and the internet. At the time Malawi was, and probably still is, one of the least developed countries on the planet. Yet the people wouldn't allow you to see that. They're very proud and happy with what they have. Another humbling experience; and some stunning scenery too!

Zimbabwe was considered the bread basket of Africa for many years, and the nation appeared to be very prosperous in 1998. Unfortunately life has changed in Zimbabwe for the worst. East Coast and Road Trip. People's Republic of China. I worked as a tour manager for an Australian company escorting tours across China into Central Asia and Russia for a few years during 2004-06. There is an amazing array of cultures, natural landscapes and ancient monuments to experience. The Great Wall was phenomenal to experience and I spent many days hiking. I also loved spending time in western China, meeting Uiguer people in Xinjing and visiting Kashgar and it's amazing market.
