Days 42 – 46 15/8/16 – 20/8/16. Day 42, Monday 15/8/16. Checking out the doggy shower. The campsite even had a dog bath. But she did not like it. I went for a 5 mile walk in the afternoon to give Pippa some exercise. A nice ride along the coast, but with a headwind all day, over a 2 km bridge with sea either side then onto an 8 km dam, I stopped by a little cafe half way across for a cold coke, then 6 km later I made the 1000 km mark. I’m going to try and get a map up here with a nice coloured line showing where i’ve been, but until then i’ll give a basic outline. England to France, follow the North Sea cycle route around to the top of Norway, then south for the winter, with the idea of travelling down the west coast of Africa, the up the east coast of Africa then east. I caught the train down to Dover and then caught the ferry to Calais where I took a cab to Frethun station where I had a hire car booked, the cab ripped me off charging about 50 as he took the motorway, I found out when I was dropping the hire car off later in the week that it was only about 10km and the motorway was not needed.
