Notes from the Alpha Test Kitchen. Tuesday, December 7, 2010. E is for Foods that start with E? While I wait and hope to become an Iron Foodie, it's also probably time to get back to regular business, yes? We're on the letter E. Currently under consideration:. Any suggestions from the peanut gallery? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). H is for Holiday Cooking. S is for Sixth. I is for Iron Foodie, Prequel 3. E is for Foods that start with E? Notes from the Alpha Test Kitchen: September 2010

Notes from the Alpha Test Kitchen. Friday, September 17, 2010. Z is for Zucchini Chicken Parmigiana. I love Italian food, but one thing about it puzzles me: You often seem to have to choose between meat and vegetables. Meat Lasagna or Vegetable Lasagna. Chicken Parmigiana or Eggplant Parmigiana. Beef Ravioli or Cheese Ravioli. I say bollocks to that. 1 medium size zucchini. 3 boneless, skinless chicken thighs. Flour (approx 1 cup). Stove Top stuffing mix (approx 1 cup). 1 can of tomato sauce. 6) Drain th...
Notes from the Alpha Test Kitchen: November 2010

Notes from the Alpha Test Kitchen. Monday, November 29, 2010. I is for Iron Foodie Ingredient Sampling. Two of the items in The Marx Foods Mystery Box were. Dried Wild Porcini Mushrooms. Dried Aji Panca Chilies. Neither of which I had ever, to my knowledge, eaten. Yay for new food! First things first, before I could really taste them, I had to macerate them. In this case, with boiling water. And then wait 15-20 minutes. T is for Tech Week. Friday, November 26, 2010. T is for Egyptian Turkey. I get my tur...

Notes from the Alpha Test Kitchen. Thursday, December 23, 2010. H is for Holiday Cooking. I've traveled to see family for the last seven years, so my December holidays find me doing very little personal baking, but plenty of cooking in other people's kitchens. Like yesterday, when I was urgently requested to make a batch of chocolate chip cookies. They were completely gone within 8 minutes of hitting the plate. A) my sister doesn't have a pasta maker or a food processor. No lumps, no lumps, no lumps.
Notes from the Alpha Test Kitchen: February 2010
http://alphatestkitchen.blogspot.com/2010_02_01_archive.html
Notes from the Alpha Test Kitchen. Tuesday, February 2, 2010. C is for Lamb Shanks with Cranberries. I wanted to come up with a savory cranberry recipe, errr, just because, so I started by thinking about what kinds of meat would be able to stand up to that. I decided lamb or duck might be good bets, since they have intense flavour, so I bopped over to the store. I consulted the recipe on the lamb package plus this one from AllRecipes.com. 2 Tablespoons olive oil. 5 cloves of garlic. 2 shallots, chopped.
Notes from the Alpha Test Kitchen: T is for Toasted Ravioli or I is for Iron Foodie Contest Recipe
http://alphatestkitchen.blogspot.com/2010/12/t-is-for-toasted-ravioli-or-i-is-for.html
Notes from the Alpha Test Kitchen. Friday, December 3, 2010. T is for Toasted Ravioli or I is for Iron Foodie Contest Recipe. Ok, Tech Week almost done, deadline looming, here, finally, is The Recipe. Here's Marx Food's Iron Foodie Contest explained. In case you're just now tuning in.). The only hometown food I miss more is White Castle. And Betty Crocker's New Cookbook (the 1st cookbook I owned as an adult). 1/3 cup of macerated Dulse Seaweed*. 1 TBLSP olive oil. 1/2 tsn Smoked Salt*. 2) Put the flour o...
Notes from the Alpha Test Kitchen: I is for Iron Foodie, Prequel 3
http://alphatestkitchen.blogspot.com/2010/12/i-is-for-iron-foodie-prequel-3.html
Notes from the Alpha Test Kitchen. Friday, December 10, 2010. I is for Iron Foodie, Prequel 3. Or E is for Easy Toasted Ravioli. Before I launched into my Iron Foodie recipe. I decided to do a Proof of Concept pre-run (Mythbusters fan, yes). I'd found plenty of easy-ish looking Toasted Ravioli recipes out on the interwebs, but I had no idea whether or not they would wind up tasting like the real thing. Hey, what better time to take on a completely untried recipe than Thanksgiving? 1 cup stuffing cubes.
Notes from the Alpha Test Kitchen: May 2011
http://alphatestkitchen.blogspot.com/2011_05_01_archive.html
Notes from the Alpha Test Kitchen. Tuesday, May 31, 2011. E is for Eggplant. Really. Hey there. Hi. Busy spring spent producing MANOS - The Hands of Felt. Ate my brain. And now we're back. So, eggplant. Yeah, I have to admit, my past with regards to eggplant is not the greatest. WARNING: DO NOT BE EATING WHILE YOU READ THIS. In fact, the first time I encountered eggplant, I managed about three bites before I threw up on my plate. At the table, yes. (I've mentioned I have texture issues? Despite jumping i...
Notes from the Alpha Test Kitchen: December 2009
http://alphatestkitchen.blogspot.com/2009_12_01_archive.html
Notes from the Alpha Test Kitchen. Thursday, December 31, 2009. C is for Cranberry (that's good enough for me). Requested by loyal reader Patti, I'm embracing the (now-over) holiday season with cranberries, a fruit about which I know very little:. Cranberry juice is apparently especially good for maintaining healthy lady-bits. And is also quite tasty in a Cosmopolitan. Coincidence? The Cranberries (band) were a big part of the soundtrack for my late high school/early college years. Now for some research:.

Eating my way out of the pantry. Pours very light gold with an ivory head – this is a Helles, after all. Noble hops are in the background, letting some delicate malty sweetness come through. What makes this beer stand out is the smokiness. Schlenkerla makes several other beers with smoked malt, and this has none but is made on the same equipment. On November 2, 2009 at 2:38 am Leave a Comment. The nose is warm, orangey and spicy. It’s got a nice full body and plenty of complexity. It’...Apparently ‘...

Blog about web development and computing in general. Brings post series like "Talk Review" and "Book Review". Always on the edge of web development. May 02, 2013. Migrating from Mac to Windows-Linux. Most people know I'm a huge fan of Apple computers in general (despite their price tag at Apple Brazil Store, which a $999 Macbook Air turns into a $1999 product. See for yourself. Until recently, I had a Core 2 Duo Macbook White from 2008 with 2.5Gb Ram and only 120Gb of HD. But, this post is not about the ...
