The Adventures of My Sammie B and Our Little Family : Proud
http://mysammieb.blogspot.com/2014/09/proud.html
Monday, September 29, 2014. Mia is swimming without fins or floaties or anything now. Just swimming. Blows my mind. And on Saturday, when Sammie saw Mia go, go, go for the first time with nothing on, she just said (squealed, actually): "Look at Mia! She's swimming without anything on! I'm so proud of her! And my heart nearly burst. I worried how it would feel for Sammie, and honestly, for me, when Mia conquered motor stuff before Sammie. But just like when Mia took her first steps. Or that I thought I.

Geeky Law Mom: Growth and Growing Pains
http://www.geekylawmom.com/2014/04/growth-and-growing-pains.html
Friday, April 18, 2014. Growth and Growing Pains. We are getting noticed by the ABA, the Washington State Bar, the Colorado Supreme Court, and local firms who want to help us grow. How fast is too fast? We worry about opening the floodgates and having to turn people away. We worry about accepting more than we can handle and failing to provide competent representation. It's a tricky balance, but it's not a bad problem to have. As for me, I am going to put "Play Barbies" on my calendar more often. Adventur...

Geeky Law Mom: Aaaaand We're Back!
http://www.geekylawmom.com/2013/08/aaaaand-were-back.html
Wednesday, August 14, 2013. I am completely shocked by the date of my last post. It's disgraceful, and yet, look what has happened since then! I finished law school, took the bar exam, got an amazing job, and took our first family vacation EVER. I even read a non-law book while at our little beach cottage, and met another mother-in-the-legal-profession blogger friend in real life. I promise to be more eloquent in the future, but I can't promise content! Elizabeth J. Neal. August 14, 2013 at 10:25 PM.

Geeky Law Mom: Starting a Revolution Part II
http://www.geekylawmom.com/2014/03/starting-revolution-part-ii.html
Monday, March 24, 2014. Starting a Revolution Part II. Being an employer is hard. Really hard. I had no idea when I started my nonprofit that you have to do things like pay payroll taxes. Pay for worker's compensation insurance. Pay for.well everything. I am surprised someone as thoughtful (right? I CAN be thoughtful) as me didn't realize how much my former employers shelled out so I could make a living. It's a LOT. Many many people at the convention wanted to set up referrals and get brochures and have ...

Geeky Law Mom: February 2012
http://www.geekylawmom.com/2012_02_01_archive.html
Tuesday, February 14, 2012. Yesterday in between errands I got a little me-time. I bought a couple new suits and got my hair cut and styled. I had recently had a horrible haircut and needed to get the damage repaired before my interview. I went to the Paul Mitchell School and they did a fantastic job! I felt amazing when I left; so empowered! All in all, I felt like a lawyer today. It's silly I know, and I have worn suits and had haircuts before but today it just felt RIGHT. Thursday, February 27, 2014. Starting a Revolution Part I. I hope it isn't too boring, but if I am going to start blogging regularly again I need to talk about my company. As I love to say, throwing my fist triumphantly into the air, "I am starting a revolution! I am starting a revolution. Who wants to join me? February 28, 2014 at 6:03 AM. It must feel great to serve people who need you so desperately. I feel like I have been in that middle range (or lower, actually) for so much of my life. It i...Farew...
