Ceramic manhole cover art. Art in the Garden. In my former life, I taught English at Walton High School in the Bronx, New York before going to law school. I practiced law in in New York and Washington DC for ten years. My New York practice was complex corporate transactional work for public and private companies. I also served as the General Counsel and Director of Policy of Common Good, an organization dedicated to common-sense legal reform. I have also been the host and producer of Santa Fe Stories.

My process for this work was pretty extensive, including getting actual impressions of the manhole covers from city streets, using those impressions to cast plaster molds, making clay multiples from the molds and then glazing and firing with multiple layers of oxides, slips and glazes.
