My Dog Ate My Manuscript: What to Read Next - May, 2015
http://ngeminisasson.blogspot.com/2015/05/what-to-read-next-may-2015.html
My Dog Ate My Manuscript. And other excuses that keep me from writing. Thursday, May 21, 2015. What to Read Next - May, 2015. It's been way too long since I've done one of these posts. Since I've stepped up my writing output, though, I've been blogging less. In an attempt to make up for being a slacker, here are some fantastic books I've discovered this year. As always, a variety of genres, to please any literary palette. Looking for a heartwarming feel-good love story with a dog in it? Posts at all, you...

The Log of the Antares: Coat
http://thelogoftheantares.blogspot.com/2015/07/coat.html
The Log of the Antares. Wednesday, July 15, 2015. That was the first word I ever read. All the books distributed, the teacher stood before us and asked, "Who can tell me what the first word is? Jim Morgan raised his hand. The teacher nodded to him and Jim said, "Coat.". I looked up at the books standing in the bookcase and I saw the future, that I would learn the words and one day these books would yield me their secrets. That was the first word I read. I never stopped. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

The Log of the Antares: Apostate 2.0
http://thelogoftheantares.blogspot.com/2015/06/apostate-20.html
The Log of the Antares. Wednesday, June 10, 2015. This post, I shall write about Libbie Hawker;. Take Off Your Pants! Has a construct with three legs. Rachel's three legs: 1) knowledge, 2) time, and 3) enthusiasm. According to Rachel, if I have these then I will write faster. I tried this and reported the results in Apostate 1.3. Yeah, it helped me write faster. Significantly faster. Libbie's three legs: 1) Character Arc, 2) Theme, and 3) Pacing. (Caps in the original.). But I don't write chick lit.

The Log of the Antares: Odd Thoughts: The Mocking Program
http://thelogoftheantares.blogspot.com/2012/05/odd-thoughts-mocking-program.html
The Log of the Antares. Tuesday, May 15, 2012. Odd Thoughts: The Mocking Program. You see this book? I argue that the first two chapters of this book are the best first two chapters in all of science fiction. And yet I hate this book. I read the book all the way through. Here's how it happened. Nah, read that. Hmm Kim Stanley Robinson. Blue Mars. Flip, flip. Dull start. No. Christ, don't they have any Cyril Kornbluth? How 'bout Harry Harrison? So I sat myself down and read the first chapter. Has 28 chapt...

The Log of the Antares. Tuesday, April 21, 2015. Half an hour ago, I decided to blog my conversion to pantser apostate step by step. Twenty-five minutes ago, I figured out 'step by step' reporting was impossible, so I settled for reporting by milepost. This is the first milepost. So you can follow along, let me tell you how I will organize these posts. My conversion shall be based on these two books:. 1 Rachel Aaron; 2k to 10k: Writing Faster, Writing Better. 2 Libbie Hawker; Take Off Your Pants! In the ...

The Log of the Antares: Apostate 1.3
http://thelogoftheantares.blogspot.com/2015/05/apostate-13.html
The Log of the Antares. Tuesday, May 12, 2015. What did I learn from Rachel Aaron;. 2k to 10k: Writing Faster, Writing Better. Did it help me write faster? I learned that Rachel's method for writing faster and better stands on three legs: 1) knowledge, 2) time, and 3) enthusiasm. I learned that this works for me, too. 25Oct2012. J sends 4th installment to Deidre. These may be meaningless to you, but they are enough to prompt me to write 1,600 to 2,000 words. Last installment - Apostate 1.2. I inserted th...
