Mill Point, a short distance from Boreen Point on the shores of Lake Cootharaba, is the site of one the earliest European settlements in the Noosa Region. A sawmill operated at Mill Point from 1871-1892 and supported a thriving community. Thanks largely to the efforts of local organisations such as the Noosa Museum, the site has now been listed on the Queensland Heritage Register. Mill Point circa 1880.
