Once on Vancouver Island, follow the signs and the island highway north to Campbell River. This will take you approximately 1 1/2 hours to drive. Once in Campbell River, follow the signs heading west on Highway 28 towards Gold River. Continue on Highway 28 for approximately 90 kms which will take approximately 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 hours. One prairie girl's quest to hike BC's Nootka Trail solely with her upper body strength. What is Nookta No Limits? Nootka No Limits is the name for a hiking expedition that will be undertaken in 2010. Christine will be doing this on an all-terrain handcycle designed to be able to handle most of the trail's challenges. This is a great undertaking, as the Nootka trail is a very treacherous hike.
