粘土には２０１２年春益子の体験クラスに１週間ほど通ったとき初めてさわった。土から何か作りたい、と言う太古から人間が持っているであろう思いを長年抱いていた。 それから３年が経った。石の上にも三年、とよく言ったものだ。ようやく何となく粘土になじんできたような。今までは粘土というものがさっぱり分からなかった。粘土の性質も扱い方も何がなんだかわからない。こねて丸めたりのばしたりしていればなんとなく何かを作れる。だがなかなか粘土というものに振り回されているというか自分の手先が自由に粘土を扱えない。粘土はなかなかく一筋縄では行かない。３年やそこら粘土をいじったからと言ってそう自由にはさせてくれない。 昨日突如自分の心の中にあるイメージに従って手を動かし乱暴にどんどん何も考えず作っていった。筒型花瓶を作ろうと思い描いていた粗雑な乱暴な勢いのある花瓶が作りたかった。形や出来具合にばかりこだわらない、ぶち破ったような花瓶をだ。平らにのばした粘土の丈に足らない部分に平気でがんがん粘土の切れ端をくっつけて行った。面白い。楽しい。 Http:/ www.norikogoto.com.
