Saturday, January 9, 2010. What a Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood. I have been cooped up in this house for too long, and today I wanted out. David was very kind and took me on an outing. I really think he wanted to get out of the house too! We decided to go to Smithville Lake while we were in the area to see if the road was open. It was very pretty and quiet. No people, no cars, just nature. All in all, it was a very satisfactory day and I thoroughly enjoyed myself. Thanks David! The Eagles Have Landed.

Monday, February 23, 2009. David and I used to fix Chinese dishes.a lot! We haven't done that in quite a while. David decided he wanted to fix one of our favorite dishes.Hoisin Chicken. As you can see from the photo, the recipe has been used enough times that we have left our marks on the page. . David was banging away in the kitchen and muttering curses and yelling at me about whether or not he should marinate the chicken, how should the chicken be cut up, yadda yadda yadda! Monday, August 31, 2009. Today I tried something that I haven't done in quite awhile.Golf. Well, it was just hitting golf balls on the driving range, but the way I was hitting them didn't resemble any kind of golf I've ever seen. I think "whacking at the ball" is a more accurate description of what I was doing. David was doing very well and I really was trying, although you would never know it to watch me! All in all, it was fun, but I will not carry that bag again, it's way to heavy for me to tote uphill.

Friday, December 25, 2009. A winter storm hit Kansas City Christmas Eve. It started in the early afternoon with ice and then changed to snow around 5 PM. Wednesday, November 25, 2009. And now a word from our sponsors. In the 1960s, an average 60 minute show would run for 51 minutes. Thats 11 minutes longer than tonights episode of "V". That means commercial time has increased from 9 minutes to 20 minutes for an hour long show. That's a 222 percent increase in commercial time! If you watch any of the old shows that are being broadcast, you may see that they've cut up to 9 minutes of showtime for the increased commercials. What can we do about this?

Although it was quite chilly, we took advantage of an otherwise pretty day to take a walk in Loose Park. There were a few people walking dogs, some children playing, and ducks on the water.
