A resource for mid-century modern architecture in Birmingham, Alabama and beyond. Saturday, October 30, 2010. A Mid-Century Mystery - what is this place? So, feast your eyes upon what appears to be a swingin' spot on Drummond Lake. Where is Drummond lake, you ask? Why, it's just south of I-459, between the Grants Mill Road and Liberty Parkway exits, north of Overton Road. You never knew it was there, did you? That's why I'm here, mod babies, to keep you in the loop. The rest of us are dying to know.

A resource for mid-century modern architecture in Birmingham, Alabama and beyond. Saturday, November 20, 2010. I think sometimes it is better not knowing. Woehle's home is lovely. Photographs are attributed to Alexandre Georges. Enjoy. Links to this post. Thursday, November 18, 2010. Go forth and populate! New addition to the dining room–Tea/coffee bar. On October 26, 2011. Several weeks ago we got an idea from Pinterest. To have a coffee/tea bar in our dining room. It seemed like a great idea to solve a couple problems in our kitchen and dining room: the large blank white wall and limited storage and counter space in the kitchen. Since we have quite a bit of tea and coffee related items, this would actually free up a significant amount of space. To this project posted on Pinterest.). We now have space to ...

On July 16, 2012. As mentioned in the last post, we finally got around to getting our subway tile backsplash up. It took us about 9 hours that weekend to (nearly) finish everything–cutting tiles, placing tiles, and putting in grout. Sadly, we ran out of grout at the very end with a little over 1 square foot left. That small area will be finished very soon. A couple pictures of what it looks like now:. And just to show how far the kitchen has come since last year, this is what it used to look like:. Once ...

We’re thinking about adding a white lamp on the top…still have to find one, though. We also finally found some frames we liked at Ikea. To fit our slightly larger than 4×6 postcards in:. Postcards were purchased from one of our favorite shops, What’s on 2nd? We are finally getting some of the main living space looking like someone actually lives there! Blog at WordPress...
