If the costume still fits. We practiced trick-or-treating on Thursday afternoon at our back door. We stood outside with our plastic pumpkins, knocked on the door, and smiled at Mama when she opened it. Then she would say, "Trick-or-treat! The monkey (Thomas), Cici, Papa John, and the lion (John David). John David was out-of-control. We had the BEST time at Miss Teila's house for the pumpkin carving party. John David, Thomas) We stopped to touch the scarecrow. Thomas wishes he could use the knife. Alder a...

Nothing "terrible" about it. The Twos. When you really look at it, there's nothing terrible about it at all. So we're typical two-year-olds (or two-and-a-half-year-olds). Our vocabulary has exploded, we repeat and remember EVERYTHING, and as a result, say the darndest things. Our mom has failed miserably at documenting them all, but we're just too fast. We're hysterical. And we're two (-and-a-half). Of the current time is over, each time! John David is a HELPER. John David is mostly CAUTIOUS,. If one of ...

Two Boys, Two Years, TOO Fast. What a long way we've come! Here we were, 4 days old.and 55 days before we came home. It seemed like forever when we were there, and now we realize how quickly the time goes. We were actually a tad bigger than this at birth. Mama cannot believe her babies are two and still marvels at these two wonderful years! We celebrated with our family again this year in the midst of battling fever, coughs, and earaches ( again. Cici and Brittany brought us cupcakes at daycare :).

As perhaps said before, two year olds are as "excited" about Christmas as people instruct them to be, which in our case was pretty excited, considering we didn't know what to really expect or when it was over. Thomas started behaving.well, crabby, on Tuesday, and then proceded to run fever on Christmas eve (and as a toddler, why wouldn't you? That's the same as a night or weekend or any other time your doctor isn't available, right? To admit to those things. (They look even worse in writing! And not just...

There's the snow. Where's James? Like thousands of other shocked Southerners, we recently awoke to snow! We soon began inquiring about James, the boy in the snow. (If you've never watched Raymond Briggs's. A short, captivating animated film about a boy who builds a snowman, the Bedsole boys highly recommend it. No dialogue, just beautiful music; we only know his name because it's written on a gift that Santa gives him.). Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). From the Lord. Watch us grow! Camilla and Crosby Smith.

January = winter = Cold. Dark. Long. Wet. We only ventured outdoors once or twice, particularly whenever Dad parks Canebrake Forestry's trailer o' fun in our driveway. The trailer - slam packed to every side with 4-wheelers, cans of gasoline/combustible liquids, and all types of manly equipment - lures the Bedsole boys without fail. All they're allowed to do is climb around the edges, and that's what we did this particular not-so-horribly-cold, lit afternoon. Thomas, super proud of his boots. We also cel...

I have a good idea. Said Thomas at the table tonight. "Let's talk about something NICE.". Thomas: ".the river! It warmed my heart to hear Thomas mimicking one of my attempts to change the subject, even though the conversation was going well. I usually do this when they get reallly whiny and particularly when they've gone on and on about something "BAD" someone said or did at daycare that day. Of course, I don't dismiss what they have to say. We pray for our friends (and ourselves! So, when acknowledgemen...
