Northenden Labour - Standing up for Local People. Monday, 5 October 2009. FREE FLOOD ALERT SERVICE. Councillor Sandra Bracegirdle would like people to be aware of the free flood alert service available from the Environment Agency. At a recent Council meeting we had a presentation from the Environment Agency about the dangers of flooding. I was concerned to hear that take up of the free flood alert service in Northenden is very low. The contact at the Environment Agency is Mike Maddocks 01925 543416.

Northenden Labour - Standing up for Local People. Friday, 6 August 2010. Well done Manchester City Council. Well free swimming had been withdrawn by this Con Dem Government but Labour Manchester has continued the scheme. It is becoming clear that the cuts are not just about tackling the banking deficit but an an ideological Tory agenda backed by Nick Clegg's Lib Dems to hurt some of the most vulnerable groups in our society.
