Food Haven: Turkey Soup & Biscuits
http://funfoodblog.blogspot.com/2011/10/turkey-soup-biscuits.html
Monday, October 31, 2011. Turkey Soup and Biscuits. Looking for an easy meal with left over Turkey? Well, this is so simple. I cheat, yes, admit I do. I found that in a pinch I can make soup with just the boxes of chicken broth, cut up carrots, celery, onion and left over turkey. About ten mins before you are ready to eat, add the egg noodles. Easy peasy! I usually make baking powder biscuits to go with the meal. Once again, I cheat! Baking Powder Biscuits (Betty Crocker). 3 tsp baking powder.

But I finally got around to making some Caramels! I LOVE caramels. Love, Love, Love them! And relatively easy to make. I doubled the recipe below! So keep that in mind when looking at these instructions. Measure out sugar and salt. I did by weight but you can use a measuring cup. Mix in the brown sugar and salt, mix well.

Food Haven: My mom had nice buns!
http://funfoodblog.blogspot.com/2012/02/my-mom-had-nice-buns.html
Thursday, February 9, 2012. My mom had nice buns! Haha So that why I called my post what I did :) Cuz my mom did have nice buns, now I do ;-) Now on to our regular scheduled post. Nothing like the taste of a fresh bun straight out of the oven. Can't you just smell it cooking? Add in the butter, salt and sugar. Cool. Add the soften yeast to the warm milk and sugar mixture. Mix until well mixed. I usually give it at least 5 mins in my machine, allowing the gluten to get a good workout! 1 cup milk (scalded).

Saturday, February 11, 2012. My sugar cookie recipe and very simple, easy to remember. Oh yeah, and they are delicious, guess that is important. So why are they called 1-2-3? Cookies can be tricky if you don't know a few simple tricks. First off, cream your room temperature butter. Please don't cheat and put it in the microwave. Just trust me, cookies need the creaming process. After the butter is nice and fluffy, add the sugar and cream the two together. Carefully pick them up and place on a non-oiled p...
