There are only some types of trees the Cree will use for firewood because they are dense and produce a hot and very long burning fire. I am also going to check on my snowshoes. A friend is making them for me, so I can keep up when I go for long walks in the bush. Snowshoes are necessary so you don’t sink into the snow up to your waist! Spotting From a Helicopter. Flying in a helicopter is very different from a plane – you go straight up so there isn’t that ‘thrust’ forward that pushes you backward in your seat when you take off. In fact, if you weren’t looking out the window, you wouldn’t know you were off the ground! Inland we followed some of the creeks, including Umsk- sibish (Beaver Creek), where the young man’s skidoo was found partially submerged.
