Saturday, August 30, 2008. Dandong and the Yalu river in Liaoning province. The Bridge of the Friendship between North-Korea and China. This is the Bridge of the Friendship at Dandong. Dandong is situated in the east of Liaoning district, at the Yalu River, which is the border between China and North-Korea. In the Korean War the bridge was destroyed by the Americans. Kashgar is an important cultural center of the Uyghur people n Xinjiang. It is the starting point for the Korakoram highway to Islamabad in Pakistan.
