Accident Report (I am a dumb ass). I was able to slowly and tearfully make it down the mountain. When I arrived at a cat track, I was able to see my board for the first time that day…why was my nose so short? Are you fucking kidding me? Rumblings from Below: A Trip Report. All good things end in Vegas. Like my partner’s good health. Unfortunately, this is how this trip report begins–the loss of a partner. After 13 months of various methods of training, the day came and went and my tips and rubberized toes did not touch the stone of Western Hardman. Yes Was I disappointed? Yes Was I pissed? Perfect. Well I swear one day I’ll save some juice for a real blog post. I can only do a snippet for now. For the past few months, I’ve had to give up climbing to maintain a positive attitude. That’s just wrong, isn’t it? We’re not all equal in this country. If you believe that we are all afforded the same opportunities, you’ve been fooled. When Mother keeps you grounded…. In my previous post. But only this time around, it is several orders of magnitude worse. Conditions on an exposed ridge/spur @ 8000 ft. 12/31/2011.
