Wednesday, May 6, 2009. VIVIPAROUS or COMMON LIZARD. This was taken on a sunny day in the cold of winter. Went to visit a friend, went into his poly tunnel, he was so glad that this COMMON TOAD has decided to take up residence. They eat slugs. Almost squashed this little beasty, COMMON FROG. An Orchid, Worts' n' all. Took the dog for a walk on the bogs today. Noticed things were changing, the basal-leaves of springs' second bloom were out. Then after seeing many spotted and striped orchid leaves one was just there, all new. It's make up is odd, an aggregate of several species. Wednesday, May 6, 2009.

Butterflies: April 2009
http://butterfliesnorthwales.blogspot.com/2009_04_01_archive.html
Tuesday, April 28, 2009. More April flights and caterpillars. April is bringing us the usual butterflies for the time of year, small and large whites, peacocks and painted-ladies, the orange-tip and the speckled wood. Well, I don't know anything about caterpillars. Got any ideas on these two beasts? The coloured caterpillar was found on a wetland plant, reed or rush, on Anglesey. The black one was found on a scree slope on a mountainside. Saturday, April 25, 2009. Tuesday, April 21, 2009.
