Norwegian Railways: April 2014
http://norwegianrail.blogspot.com/2014_04_01_archive.html
20 years of photos. Tuesday, 29 April 2014. A Swedish railbus in England. The NSB bought some. This one is running on the Nene Valley Railway in the tender care of the IRPS. Saturday, 26 April 2014. I wonder why there were sidings at Movatn. It is not a large lake so it is unlikely that there was much fish traffic. This reminds me of model railway layout planning session. Thursday, 24 April 2014. Roof detail of the Class 72 emu. Taken at Moss. Tuesday, 22 April 2014. The water tower at Lillehammer.

Wood End and Beyond. The Early Years 78-93. Wood End - The Original. Froxington - The Flop. Morton Stanley 0-16.5. Dapol autocoach enters Unnycoombe propelled by a Farish 57xx. The cattle dock is scatch-built from plastic from plans in the Stephen Wiliams GWR Branch Lines book. The water crane is Ratio and the grounded van body is a scratch-built Iron Mink. Featured in the April 2011 issue of. The layout was sold on in 2013. Unnycoombe in its entirety on a patio in Crawley. Dapol 45xx shunts at Unnycoombe.
Wood End and Beyond: Edge 009
http://unnycoombelala.blogspot.com/p/edge-009.html
Wood End and Beyond. The Early Years 78-93. Wood End - The Original. Froxington - The Flop. Morton Stanley 0-16.5. Is a small 4mm scale 009 layout built purely to illustrate a book project. The brief was to build a layout from the ground up using simple kits and then scratch-built items for all buildings and rolling stock. The choice of design was aimed at what a novice could build within a reasonable amount of time with a small toolkit and limited space. The track layout from John Ahern's Gammon End.
Wood End and Beyond: The SMT Years

Wood End and Beyond. The Early Years 78-93. Wood End - The Original. Froxington - The Flop. Morton Stanley 0-16.5. Punned names. It appeared in a few MTIs - the main article from which these photos are scanned is in No 19. Top pair of photos - Chris Ellis. The full 9 feet of Einsford Mill at the old Southampton show. This was the day that I left the stock in the hallway. Luckily Stig was on hand with 'some that I want to run'. He saved the day. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Iain C. Robinson.

The loco is an Airfix pug kit on a Tenshodo spud built by Mr Hill. He hates this photo. Nigel Hill's station building from card and plastic sheet based on the buildings on the line to Selsey. The shed by me was from a David Gander dawing of a structure on the Welsh Highland. It featured in an article in Railway Modeller in August 2007. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Wood End and Beyond: Garn 009
http://unnycoombelala.blogspot.com/p/garn-009.html
Wood End and Beyond. The Early Years 78-93. Wood End - The Original. Froxington - The Flop. Morton Stanley 0-16.5. Garn was built at a difficult part of my life and to a certain extent acted as therapy. The main scenic board is just 1 metre by 14" deep and is constructed from 6mm MDF. The track is PECO 009 with the points wired through small DPDT slide switches mounted on top of the board at the front. This is not as ludicrous as it sounds and after a while they blend into the whole. Garn was featured in...

Wood End and Beyond: Rhiw 00 4mm
http://unnycoombelala.blogspot.com/p/rhiw-llynfordd.html
Wood End and Beyond. The Early Years 78-93. Wood End - The Original. Froxington - The Flop. Morton Stanley 0-16.5. Traffic was DMUs and scrap/chemicals worked via an exchange siding to an off-stage industrial site. The scenic portion was 7'2" in length x 12" in width plus a fiddle yard taking the overall length to a shade under 11'. A couple of photos and a few bits that I used for inspiration. One was an article in the March 1986. Rhiw appeared in the July 2012 Railway Modeller. Iain C. Robinson.

Wood End and Beyond. The Early Years 78-93. Wood End - The Original. Froxington - The Flop. Morton Stanley 0-16.5. The Early Years 78-93. 1978 - I was 14 and Roy Link's 'Art of the Compromise article had just appeared. I'm still trying to build this plan! Things to note: the brick wallpaper, the H and M Clipper, and the 2x1 and chipboard baseboard with cork tiles. I don't know why this has fallen out of favour so much - my loft floor is built like this and works a treat. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
