These are two of the traditional christmas cookies in Greece - Kourabiedes (Κουραμπιέδες), which are a sweet, buttery almond biscuit covered in powdered sugar and Melomakarona (Μελομακάρονα), a honey and orange biscuit, served in a sticky syrup. I haven't tried the latter as I'm hideously allergic to oranges, however my boyfriend is trying to devise a lemon substitute to see if that will work.
