Published works & articles. Thursday, July 5, 2012. Very Happy Independence Day. We had a really great 4th of July. It started out rainy. Nothing like swimming in the rain! The rainy day led to a reasonably cool evening. This was the first 4th of July I can remember ever where I wasn't drenched in sweat. I know, TMI but trust me, it was amazing and enjoyable. We got the kids a bunch of fireworks and there were at least 4 other neighborhoods all around us that had a ton of fireworks, too so it was awesome.
