Notes from District 2: Let's Play Ball!
http://notesfromdistrict2.blogspot.com/2012/07/lets-play-ball.html
Notes from District 2. There is too much going on in El Paso. Sunday, July 15, 2012. How exactly did El Paso chart a path from economic powerhouse of the southwest through the 1950s to low wage capital of the nation by the end of the century? We started this century ready to recapture our ambition for our community with elected and civic leaders making a case for big change. Why resign ourselves to low wages and poor quality of life? Why export our most talented and educated young people? The enthusiasm ...

Notes from District 2: Domestic Partner Benefits
http://notesfromdistrict2.blogspot.com/2010/11/domestic-partner-benefits.html
Notes from District 2. There is too much going on in El Paso. Monday, November 15, 2010. I lost on both points. The ordinance will stand as written by the petitioners and adopted by the voters of El Paso. I've received emails and calls asking me to explain myself, asking why I would vote against the will of the people. I'll do my best to explain. Domestic partner benefits obviously is about more than access to health care. It is about how we treat people who are perceived to be different and whether ...
Notes from District 2: The Bulldozers are Coming
http://notesfromdistrict2.blogspot.com/2010/09/bulldozers-are-coming.html
Notes from District 2. There is too much going on in El Paso. Sunday, September 19, 2010. The Bulldozers are Coming. The City of El Paso doesn't have a loop. Dallas has one. Austin has one. San Antonio has one. We have got to get us one of those. We are the only major Texas city without one. Shameful. Really shameful. So what exactly do the fortunate cities with the loops get? You might have thought that Transmountain Road was only a scenic corridor, but it is in fact the skeleton of a freeway loop in th...
Notes from District 2: TXDOT to El Paso: "My Way or the Highway"
http://notesfromdistrict2.blogspot.com/2011/03/txdot-to-el-paso-my-way-or-highway.html
Notes from District 2. There is too much going on in El Paso. Thursday, March 17, 2011. TXDOT to El Paso: "My Way or the Highway". TXDOT says we have two choices. We can take their $85 million and build a four lane freeway with two lanes of frontage on each side and four overpasses running up side the mountain. Or we can doom our citizens to a safety hazard of a road because if we don't like their idea they are sending the money back to Austin. Is that the way to build a great city? The biggest problem t...

Notes from Dixie | A Blog about Crafts, Recipes and Southern Tails!Notes from Dixie | A Blog about Crafts, Recipes and Southern Tails!
A Blog about Crafts, Recipes and Southern Tails! We finally moved a few months ago to beautiful Roswell, GA. As you can see we have had quite a bit of snow (for GA anyway) since then. Roswell is a gorgeous southern town 20 min north of Atlanta. It has a cute downtown area with tons of great restaurants, some cute stores and lots of history. We absolutely love it! Has been my absolute favorite. It is neutral, not too cold and just makes everything look so modern, yet calming. Posted in Southern Home.

Notes from Dove Lane – Pursuing the gentler side of life
Notes from Dove Lane. Pursuing the gentler side of life. A bit about me. A Little Bit of Hygge…. I’ve read quite a bit about ‘hygge’ lately. I’m not sure exactly how you pronounce the word…or even spell it , but I think it’s pronounced ‘hue-gah’. However, to quote my favourite philosopher Winnie-the -Pooh, when asked how to spell a certain emotion, ‘You don’t spell it, you feel it.’. Spelling and pronouncing hygge is probably the easy part. Explaining what it is is perhaps a bit more tricky! Ok, Ok I kno...
