In charge of more than I should be :. Life & Home. Category Archives: Notes from Home. My blog about life and home. Christmas traditions: Christmas Kisses. They called the game Christmas Kisses and it simply involved them shouting out ‘. At bedtime and the joy it gave me to give them those thirty-six kisses, especially as sometimes the witching hour and bedtime is a bit fraught and shouty as four children run around half-naked unable to follow (or it seems even to. Coping with four children under six | Notes from Home

In charge of more than I should be :. Life & Home. Daily life with four children under six. The last few months have been busy, tiring, sore and fun. But mostly busy. If I am crazy to have had so many children so close together, I am at least loving every minute of it (OK, maybe. The 3am ones) and somehow I make it through the days without losing my mind. Or a child. Matthew even went to the US for two weeks when Edward was only six weeks old and I survived! Aren’t they lovely? Evening while the baby fee...

In charge of more than I should be :. Life & Home. Ecently we had Parent-Teacher meetings at school. I love Parent-Teacher evenings because I’m always on my own, with four tired, bored, hungry children who would rather be doing ANYTHING except having to vaguely behave in school after-hours. I usually let them loose in the playground with a ball so that I can half-concentrate on what the teacher has to say. The other half of me is praying that they don’t break the school windows. Oh no, not at all. Our sc...

The Domestic Goddess Challenge. Learning to cook and raising a foodie family! In 30 Minutes or Less. August 7, 2013. I haven’t blogged a recipe for a whole year… Lots of things have happened in that time (and will post some photographic evidence at some point). I have been inspired to keep blogging by some very lovely pink ladies. So here is tonight’s tea, taken from the Aug 2013 edition of Essentials magazine. It is very yummy, full of cheese and great with a nice salad. Enjoy! 400g approx of chicken.
The Pixies Pocket: April 2011

Wednesday, 20 April 2011. Chicken Pox or Midgie Bites? Dervish wakes up with bright red angry cheeks and a few spots on his legs. Angry looking things they are. Lifted his top to reveal 3 or 4 littler ones on his tummy. We are meant to be visiting my Brother and his pregnant girlfirend this weekend. SO off to the doctor we scooted. But the next day one of them started to look a little like it was developing. A bath later revealed a few more on his groin. So how the heck do you know! Does he or doesn't he.

bea hope: July 2010
http://beahopearmstrong.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html
Wednesday, 14 July 2010. My eldest girl has just turned thirteen. I was once - a long time ago admittedly - thirteen so you would think it would seem somewhat familiar to me, but in fact somedays she seems like an alien. A willowy, beautifully dressed alien, but still an alien. Which, from a teenager's point of view, is just how it should be. Monday, 12 July 2010. Why I have started a blog. http://scritchings.blogspot.com/2009/04/miss-manners-is-in.html
Scritchings and scribblings of a stitchy scary cat lady. Friday, April 17, 2009. Miss Manners is IN. I've just read a post. By the excellent Mamacita. About the dangers of letting the children rule the parents and home, rather than the parents doing their job properly. One of the commenters asked, as someone who doesn't spend much time with small children, is it reasonable to expect a 4.5yo to eat/chew with their mouth shut. Oh, and for the record, seeing someone smacking away at their food with their mo...

Notes from Hidden Springs Farm. Monday, April 11, 2011. She decided to call in a Z-pack for me, which I was able to start late that night. So here it is now Monday …and I am feeling WAY WAY better. Comparatively speaking. I am still coughing, but it isn't as uncontrollable as it was! Also, from what I have heard from everyone who has had this, the cough lasts a long time with this crap. What I would like to know is why I could not have had the damned Z-pack on Wednesday? Monday, April 4, 2011. And the sp...

To design well, there’s a road you travel until problems and people intersect. If you don’t get lost or detoured, the signposts you pass are Learn, Define, Model, and Build. Learn the territory. How are things now? Define the right problem to solve. Who do you most want to reach and why? How do we make the training enjoyable AND useful t...
