Notes from Kenya: December 2007
http://notesfromkenya.blogspot.com/2007_12_01_archive.html
Miscellaneous ramblings from a beautiful country. Thursday, December 13, 2007. Saying goodbye to Nairobi. This is my last post from Nairobi, at least for this stay. After eight months, I leave on Saturday for a long trip back to the U.S. – home for the holidays, as they say. I recently had a co-worker drive me around Nairobi. He wanted to show me the outskirts, and said we would get real nyama choma. To give you a flavor of what nyama choma is, let me explain the ordering process. We walked up to wha...

Miscellaneous ramblings from a beautiful country. Monday, July 23, 2007. Last week was very interesting- a week of changes and transitions, unexpected events, and beautiful sights. 8220;Well, maybe you should come with us to Naivasha,” said the country director. He and William were going to find out if there was room in the budget for me. Later that day, I was told that I was indeed going to the dairy offsite, and that we would leave Wednesday morning. Back to cows! And what a place it was. Any time you ...

Miscellaneous ramblings from a beautiful country. Sunday, May 25, 2008. Guess Where I Am Now? So, believe it or not, this blog is not dead after all. For some reason, I had a hard time posting to a website entitled “Notes from Kenya” when, in fact, I was not in Kenya. I know that is no excuse…but that is what happened. Great to see your blog again and I am delighte you are back doing what you find so rewarding. May 25, 2008 at 12:56:00 PM EDT. May 25, 2008 at 12:58:00 PM EDT. But email me/ring me to upda...
Notes from Kenya: November 2007
http://notesfromkenya.blogspot.com/2007_11_01_archive.html
Miscellaneous ramblings from a beautiful country. Sunday, November 4, 2007. On Friday, I had the opportunity to do something that I have wanted to do for a long time. Since I didn’t know when I would get the chance again, I decided to take the afternoon off for an excursion with some friends. The excursion ended up being entertaining, educational, and eye-opening, an experience I will remember for a long time. A view of Kibera. A view from the school's new second floor window. We crossed the railroad, ju...
Notes from Kenya: June 2007
http://notesfromkenya.blogspot.com/2007_06_01_archive.html
Miscellaneous ramblings from a beautiful country. Wednesday, June 27, 2007. After about a month living here, I am finally getting around to writing an update. I apologize for taking so long, but rest-assured, life is good. Nairobi is not the threatening, nerve-racking city that I once thought it was. In fact, the Kenyan capital is a vibrant, interesting town, if not a bit of an urban mess. View from our apartment balcony. Beth petting an orphaned baby elephant. Giraffes looking for food.

Monday, 6 December 2010. Social Lethargy and The Art Of Being Stranded. Now, having reached a respectable enough age, I'm realistic enough to acknowledge the fact that the once roaring engines of social politics have for some time been left idling and rusting away, but surely; this is something entirely different. Have the population become weary of everyday interaction with people unfamiliar to them? Have they become that jaded? The Game Of Life:. Come on, people; put some effort into it. Punk, Sell-Out...

Salt and Light
Let me tell you why I'm here. I'm here to be salt-seasoning that brings out the God-flavors of this earth. I'm here to be light bringing out the God-colors in the world. I'm a light bearer and I'm going to let my light shine for Jesus. Sunday, May 27, 2012. The Game of Life. The Game of Life. Miscellaneous ramblings from a beautiful country. Sunday, September 7, 2008. Welcome.to Jurassic Park. Bili was young, yet her calm and reserved nature set her apart from the others. Maybe this was why I spotted her, looking alone and vulnerable, while others seemed to be running around, enjoying the moment. She didn’t seem offended, which was a relief. I didn’t want to destroy the moment. She laid back down, this time with her feet near my head, and rested her head on my knee. Is a chimpanzee sanctuary ...

Notes, Articles and Books by Kevin R. Vixie. Notes, Other Articles, and Books. The use of words in communicating thoughts, written and spread around to others, is a practice that I have come to rather slowly in my life. As a home-schooled teenager, my mother would occasionally require me to write something, but it wasn’t until much later that I started writing things down and sharing them. You will find articles on a variety of subjects, from something that I call. Natural law –. Kevin R. Vixie.

Notes from Kimberley's Kitchen | Writing about the food I love
Notes from Kimberley's Kitchen. Writing about the food I love. February 22, 2015. Notes from Kimberley's Kitchen. There is something about miso soup that makes you feel like you are becoming instantly more healthy as you slurp. It is tasty and cleansing and this recipe contains noodles to make the dish a little bit more filling. Miso soup with noodles, pak choi and mushrooms. 1 vegetable stock cube. 1 inch of ginger, peeled and finally sliced. 2 tbsp. (I use 2 small sachets) of miso paste. Preheat the ov...
