Notes from the Curry Trail. A gringo girl with a hopeless crush on all things curry. No, your blog newsfeed is not malfunctioning – I actually wrote a new post! Welcome back, self. This time I’m here to offer a public service announcement. If you plan on keeping super-hot spices in your cooking artillery (which is likely, if you’re a fan of Indian-inspired cooking), don’t leave them within reach of the dog (or other unsuspecting and curious loved ones)! And the sad, sad, pup post-adobo:. HAHAHAHA poor Fe...
Durban Red Curry (or, Mother-in-law’s tongue) | Notes from the Curry Trail

Notes from the Curry Trail. A gringo girl with a hopeless crush on all things curry. Durban Red Curry (or, Mother-in-law’s tongue). Before I knew I would be going to South Africa in December, one of my requests for my mom (who was there in August) was to bring back some Durban red curry powder. Now, I realize using curry powder is frowned upon by “authentic” curry enthusiasts, but I was curious to compare the Durban-style curry blend with what is typically used in the U.S. And let me tell you, it is HOT!

Notes from the Curry Trail. A gringo girl with a hopeless crush on all things curry. As some of you know, I applied for a foreign clerkship on the South African Constitutional Court. More than a year ago. Fortuitously, then- Justice Albie Sachs. Selected me to serve as a clerk for his successor on the Court, Justice van der Westhuizen. The Con Court is a truly inspirational place, and I was extremely humbled when I visited it with my family last December. The Court is described. The Great African Steps.

Notes from the Crib | answering What, Where, and Why to buy for baby
Notes from the Crib. Answering What, Where, and Why to buy for baby. March 9, 2012. My baby boy turned 1! With the newborn, infant, and now baby stages behind him, he is officially a toddler. When my older son passed this milestone, I cried. This time, I’m thrilled! I have less to mourn in the year past and much more to anticipate in this next season. Walking, talking, further engaging with me, his dad and brother, his peers. No more diapers. I can’t wait! Free for his big day, and loved it! However you ...

Notes From The Cube
Notes From The Cube. Wednesday, February 08, 2012. A voice from the past, Pierre Dolet, writes:. It’s the honest ones who are the real problem in the company. If they didn’t see with their damn clear eyes, then the rest of us could get on with the business of ignoring the bosses and their flagrant thievery. Did the new President self-sacrifice his six figure bonus for cutting costs? Ah, sacrificial lambs! Why do so many longtime employees choose to leave? Burn, burn, baby. Burn, burn, ba-by! There is no ...

Let us know what you think. Parenting High School Teenagers through Secondary School Education. As all of us get ready for the brand-new scholastic year, moms and dads of high school kids deal with among the most tough durations of their lives as they direct teens through secondary school education- a duration which can be attempting, mad, tearful and really explosive. Musings on food, life, and fanciful things. March 27, 2017. Find a penny, pick it up. All the day you’ll have good luck. I’ve collected a lot of pennies, which come in handy for buying tidbits, this and that, odds and ends. Consider me pro-penny. Some people are anti-penny. They find pennies so useless and annoying, they’ve tossed them in the trash. But over time, they may see the error of their ways. I applaud small change. It shows people have come to their cent-ses. A Shred of Truth (Part 3). By then ...

notes from the dark
Notes from the dark. A Kinoite at Large. The Amazing Spider-Man – Marc Webb – 2012. August 13, 2012. The sun beat down onto me. My head was becoming clouded, I had just had a strange incident in the Levi’s Store which involved yelling and walking into an occupied change room. Maybe the heat wave that clenched Manhattan in its humid fist was getting to me. I needed a break, a couple of hours out. The only mistake Raimi made was his casting of the two leads of his films, his touch was with the villains....

Notes From the Darknet. Book reviews and literary discussion. Book Review: Young Adult: The Harvest by Chuck Wendig. July 31, 2015. July 31, 2015. Notes from the Darknet. It’s been a year since the Saranyu flotilla fell from the sky, and life in the Heartland has changed. Gone are the Obligations and the Harvest Home festivals. In their place is a spate of dead towns, the former inhabitants forced into mechanical bodies to serve the Empyrean and crush the Heartland. July 14, 2015. Where I Got It:. The bo...
