Notes from the Narrow Road. Observations from a pilgrim traveling along The Way. Tuesday, November 17, 2009. Simon Peter writes to us in 1 Peter 5:8-9, "Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of sufferings.". You are totally correct Scott! Notes from the Narrow Road. Observations from a pilgrim traveling along The Way. Thursday, February 9, 2012. A Eulogy for Dan Smith. One of my oldest and closest friends, Dan Smith, has lost his battle with cancer, but is now experiencing victory over death in the presence of the Lord. I am feeling so much as I write these words, but I want to capture some of what he meant to me…what he still means to me. We would be driving down the road and Dan would yell out “HAY! In a room with Blake Hamaker and Jere...

Notes from the Narrow Road: New Sermon Series: Commencement
https://notesfromthenarrowroad.blogspot.com/2010/05/new-sermon-series-commencement.html
Notes from the Narrow Road. Observations from a pilgrim traveling along The Way. Sunday, May 16, 2010. New Sermon Series: Commencement. On May 23 we will honor our graduating seniors. In preparing my message for that morning I realized I had more to say than could fit in one sermon (even one of mine! So, starting on May 16, we will have three sermons on commencement: answering the call to be. May 16: Do you have a story of your own? May 23: Are you capable of living for someone other than yourself?

http://talesofababycatcher.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html
Tales Of A Baby Catcher. Wednesday, February 29, 2012. We're really excited around our house lately. Wednesday, February 22, 2012. Carlos, you are 8 months old! We are loving this age. You keep us on our toes always. Because you are chasing after us all the time! I wanted to leave it on for 2 reasons:. 1)because everybody reports for spring training tomorrow. 2)to remember you just as you are.always. Also, some people out there may notice that your bed looks weird. You pull up on everything these days!

Tales Of A Baby Catcher: April 2012
http://talesofababycatcher.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html
Tales Of A Baby Catcher. Saturday, April 14, 2012. See this nice Hunk-O-Goodness. He has turned this girl into a cheering, line up critiquing, beaming, sitting on the edge of the bleachers Baseball MOM! He's a killer ball stopper at 3rd. And boy, watch out Josh Hamilton. This boy is a bomb-diggity hitter extrodinaire! His dad's pretty proud too! And, just in case you think we're biased. He got the game ball for making 2 outs and batting in 2 runners in the last inning of an exciting game this week! That ...

The Peschel's: August 2011
http://scottandshelbypeschel.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html
Saturday, August 27, 2011. For Father's Day this year we got Scott and his dad tickets to the minor league baseball team in San Antonio - and this past weekend for finally used those tickets! Leah stayed behind with my parents since the game didn't start until late. The boys (and big boys) had a blast! But apparently it takes a "Puffy Taco" to win him over. Scott and Shelby Peschel. And the boys loved having a water balloon fight there - Aaron is showing off his ribs in this pic. Waco Zoo - a favorite for sure! Aaron loved his drawing at my Pa's old desk - very special. Scott and Shelby Peschel. Saturday, July 21, 2012. Oh, what a week – we said goodbye to our first pet “Sticker the Fish.”. Aaron is even the one who broke the news to Caleb...

The Peschel's: Happy Halloween 2012
http://scottandshelbypeschel.blogspot.com/2012/11/happy-halloween-2012.html
Friday, November 2, 2012. We had a fun Halloween. Every year I think it will be the last time the kids coordinate their costumes, but this year they were all quite happy to go as superheroes. Scott assures me that these particular superheroes do NOT all go together or even live on the same planet (or something along those lines), but I say superheroes are superheroes. The kids had fun at Harvest Fest and even more fun trick or treating with the cousins. Scott and Shelby Peschel. Soccer - Fall 2012.

The Peschel's: December 2012
http://scottandshelbypeschel.blogspot.com/2012_12_01_archive.html
Tuesday, December 11, 2012. Leah had a photo shoot this week but not the kind you hope for. She took a tumble on Sunday afternoon, landed hard on her shoulder, and by that night could not lift her arm. More importantly, she couldn't suck her thumb! It was quite pitiful to have her screaming in pain but not be able to soothe herself the way she has been for the 2 years of her life. Apparently the left thumb is NOT the same as that well-loved right thumb. She was quite tiny looking with the big equipment.

Tales Of A Baby Catcher: September 2011
http://talesofababycatcher.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html
Tales Of A Baby Catcher. Saturday, September 24, 2011. Carlos, you are 3 months old! See that smirk on your face. Just so you remember,. I'll point out that you turned 3 months old on a crazy day. The first day mommy had to handle a morning of shower, school, lunch packing, wee school, babysitter, work. We all made it, on time. Daddy usually holds you up for your picture, but I thought, no biggie we'll be fine. You would NOT SIT STILL! I could hear your brain. Haha, mommy, I'm not gonna make this easy".

Notes from the Mother 'Hood | Because it's a jungle in here…
Notes from the Mother 'Hood. Because it's a jungle in here…. Go big and/or go home. I spend a lot of time with adolescents. Notes From the Muck
The MUCK . . . How does your garden grow? With muck, muck and more muck! I spent much of today finishing the final muck box and then shifting muck from one box to the next. The first box, which the Big Lad is enthusiastically pointing out, has been rotting down for two years now and once we’d removed the top quarter of unrotted material, we found we’d hit the pay dirt. Notes from the Napkin
Notes from the Napkin. Sharing moments of joy with fine food folks, like you. Sunday, January 3, 2016. Charleston Grill - Charleston, SC - December 24, 2015. We’re new to town, so you can imagine the hundreds of times I’ve googled, “Best Restaurants in Charleston,” and poured through the plethora of places that my search revealed. I have to admit that hearing Charleston is some kind of foodie destination, had me both excited, but yet a little bit doubtful. Christmas Eve, and I do like to go all out.

Notes from the neighborhood. We are mothers, wives, neighbors, friends, sisters, and daughters. Won't you be our neighbor? December 23, 2016. Turns out, the house was for her and her husband and they were looking to purchase a house in our neighborhood and scrape it to turn it into a modern home. Stacy (the realtor) came over on a Saturday and within 14 days we were under contract with her. We had agreed on fair pricing- she and her husband buying our house and us buying the lots. This morning, we closed...
