Notes from the Stacks

Notes from the Stacks. Sunday, April 29, 2007. The Year of the Dog. Well, I had great intentions of posting books as I read them, but until today I could not remember my username for this new account.EEEK! Too, too many usernames and passwords swirling in my head. I read two books yesterday making for a wonderfully relaxing Saturday. The first, Year of the Dog by Grace Lin. Childhood memoirs can often be dark and cathartic for the writer, Year of the Dog. I would recommend this book to teachers looking f...

Notes from the Stacks: Inspired Reader turned Blogger

http://notesfromthestacks.blogspot.com/2007/04/inspired-reader-turned-blogger.html

Notes from the Stacks. Sunday, April 8, 2007. Inspired Reader turned Blogger. I am a school librarian and as such, an avid reader. I was inspired by my cousin and the many blogs I read to try out a little blogging. My plan is to review the books I read as I finish them.that's about it. So to get started. I flew back from Oregon yesterday- long 4 hour flight- and I read An Abundance of Katherines. Won the 2005 Printz award for the Best Young Adult Novel. All this said, onto the book. I really enjoyed this...

52 Books 52 Weeks: Persepolis by Marjane Satrapi

http://52books52weeks.blogspot.com/2007/05/persepolis-by-marjane-satrapi.html

52 Books 52 Weeks. Starting in April 2007.a place to keep track of what I'm reading. Saturday, 12 May 2007. Persepolis by Marjane Satrapi. I was given this book by my cousin Lisa. For Christmas this year and just got around to reading it. Lisa, being a librarian, is always one for recommending great books and this one does not disappoint. I am having a difficult time writing this review. The book was so wonderfully different and fantastic though that I suggest everyone reads it. 5 stars from me.

This is the final post from this domain for who knows how long. I've now been back at home for just over a week, and I'm just about adjusting to life in a London suburb after having lorded it up five minutes from the beach and centre of Málaga for the last nine months. You can't tell me I didn't warn you. And lots of cake. I've said before how much I enjoyed ...

Is better than cash! Tuesday, 01 February 2011 22:16 Last Updated on Tuesday, 03 December 2013 22:37 Written by Anonymous Hits: 1189. There and Back Books and the Space Cafe are located in a fictional San Francisco, California. It is a "phillabert" of the imagination, filled with as many aliens as books.
