Saturday Night Fever | TARDISTIC
https://tardistic.wordpress.com/2014/10/20/saturday-night-fever
Bigger On The Inside. October 20, 2014. Staying up late doesn’t matter on a Saturday. 8217; please just remember what I do for a living. Sunday morning is not a good time for me not be firing on all cylinders. No, the irony is not lost on me either. I hereby invent the term Meta-Perseveration. Anyone who knows how to break this insidious cycle should feel free to get in touch. Preferably before next Saturday night. My Empire of Dirt. 3 thoughts on “ Saturday Night Fever. The Importance of Play | Musings of an Aspie
https://musingsofanaspie.com/2014/05/29/the-importance-of-play
Musings of an Aspie. Aspergers and Autism Resources. The Importance of Play. May 29, 2014. This morning as I was lying on the floor wrestling with my dog for her tennis ball–complete with fake growling on my part and some real growling on her part–I realized how important play is in my life. Still At the age of 45. Play in its purest form. Play that arises in the moment and leads to unexpected, unbridled fun. Worse, why are autistic kids so often described as not understanding how to play? The activity c...

sleep wake hope and then: May 2014
http://sleepwakehopeandthen.blogspot.com/2014_05_01_archive.html
Thursday, May 29, 2014. One of the things I am most afraid of is making other people upset or angry. This tends to be a problem. When other people are angry, even if I know it is not at me, I am afraid. Even if it is something completely unrelated to me. If my sister is mad at my parents for not letting her go out somewhere with her friends, I am afraid. But of course, I can't hide under my desk at work. Partially, the floor is disgusting. When I am especially afraid, all questions are a threat. And if I...

sleep wake hope and then: June 2014
http://sleepwakehopeandthen.blogspot.com/2014_06_01_archive.html
Sunday, June 29, 2014. I use tumblr for a few, very specific purposes. To look at pictures of baby animals and to find puns and other bad jokes. I maybe started it as an extension of this blog and definitely do have a bit of autistic people I like to read on there*, but quite honestly, it is mostly puppies. Today I found this piece of beauty. So I was gallivanting along on tumblr. And found this delightful little thing. And I really truly love it. And this puns was based off of one of my scripts. Which i...

Balancing Acts | TARDISTIC
https://tardistic.wordpress.com/2015/03/19/balancing-acts
Bigger On The Inside. March 19, 2015. Apparently, there’s a bit of a Twitter storm going on at the moment around the hashtags #highfunctioningmeans and #functioninglabelsmean. This has largely passed me by, because I’m not connected to the Autistic community on Twitter. Twitter is for my public persona – you know, the one where I’m high functioning, and not in any way autistic. But luckily for me, this subject has started to seep into the glorious anonymity of the blogosphere. Both feministaspie. If I ca...

Never Gonna Give You Up | TARDISTIC

Bigger On The Inside. March 6, 2015. Never Gonna Give You Up. By the way, the title of the post is not altogether relevant. It’s just that I have musical echolalia, and Rick Astely has been going around my head ever since Ash Wednesday, and I thought some of you ought to share my pain. You’re welcome.). 8221; That’s not intrinsically a bad question, but I’m not sure it’s something you should necessarily have to discuss with someone you’ve only just met, or in a room full of people. 1 Things we need.

Frozen | TARDISTIC

Bigger On The Inside. February 3, 2015. When you’re a Vicar, alongside death and taxes comes a third inevitability. It is that whenever there is some massive thing-that-everyone’s-talking-about, be it a major news event, a number one song or a blockbuster movie, some day you’re going to have to feature it in a sermon. For the past year, I’ve been putting off preaching on Disney’s Frozen. Because [cue gasps and cries of “Heresy! To be fair, Frozen. Which is well worth a read. I’ve written before. About my...

sleep wake hope and then: Shampoo Thief
http://sleepwakehopeandthen.blogspot.com/2015/01/shampoo-thief.html
Friday, January 9, 2015. Here follows an example of my problem solving abilities:. So, the only logical answer was to become a shampoo thief until Christmas break, when I could resupply myself with shampoo. Instead, you got my deepest darkest secret of freshmen year (I was not full of deep, dark secrets yet at that time in my life): the months I was a thief every time I showered. (Also, now that I've actually thought about this story, I find it amusing although I'd likely be just as impractical today).
