Friday, February 6, 2009. Here is that facebook thing that has been floating around. I find it amazing. I'm so thrilled to see the honesty and compassion that comes through in the writing and sharing of these. Here's my version, for internet posterity. 1 I find number 1 to be the hardest one to fill out. 2 I love dancing, specifically alone, amongst people (you know what I mean). It makes me feel free and joyful. Actually, don't make anyone laugh when they're eating, even if they're not your relative!

In Buffalo, staying at home, being a mom and a part-time writer. (i.e., Living the dream.). Friday, January 6, 2012. Mary Claire and me, sharing first place. After months of worry and sleepless nights, my mother simply decided that she would never let on. No matter what her true feelings were, she would never let the second baby suspect that Mary Claire was the favorite. She buckled down and prepared to like the second-best kid. 8221;, I think of the tiny little kicker in my uterus and I know that someho...

In Buffalo, staying at home, being a mom and a part-time writer. (i.e., Living the dream.). Thursday, June 16, 2011. One morning when my husband Tim was leaving for work, we went through our standard “goodbye” script: “Bye. Have a good day.”. I happened to be holding our 9-month-old at the time, and I said, “Okay, now tell Charlie you love him.”. Tim rubbed Charlie’s funny, cowlicky hair and laughed a little. 8220;He knows, don’t you buddy? 8221; he said. 8220;No, tell him,” I insisted. 8221; Tim asked.

In Buffalo, staying at home, being a mom and a part-time writer. (i.e., Living the dream.). Friday, September 30, 2011. So Cool it Burns. Recently, my husband Tim and I were talking about our stroller, and strollers in general, and he had a brainstorm. 8220;Why don’t they have really cool strollers? Like, for tough guys. I’m thinking leather with studs.”. But my response fell on the deaf ears of a man whose imagination had been ignited. I raised my eyebrows. “Tell me more,” I said. 8221; I asked.

Buffalo Home Girl: March 2011

In Buffalo, staying at home, being a mom and a part-time writer. (i.e., Living the dream.). Tuesday, March 29, 2011. Reasons I Was Made to Be A Mother, In No Particular Order. Reason #3: I know what I’m going to say when Charlie encounters foul language. Standing in the aisle, the German stared down her nose at my sister and, as if she’d had years of practice, said, “Bitch.”. 8211; a bad word. A dirty pig who never bathed? Mary Claire and I confirmed that the pig thing was much, much worse. Think of all ...

In Buffalo, staying at home, being a mom and a part-time writer. (i.e., Living the dream.). Friday, January 31, 2014. Repetition, Repetition, Repetition. Anyone who has ever taken an acting class knows what I’m talking about. At some point, you do this Meisner exercise that involves two people repeating the same line over and over (and over and over) with a kind of evolving meaning. Never been there for me. http://shilpipaul.blogspot.com/2007_10_01_archive.html
Wednesday, October 10, 2007. I was having pure fun with the whole experience (getting pampered, feeling like another person, camaraderie.) until about 30 seconds before i was supposed to walk on - then it hit me that i was completely unqualified and what was i thinking? My face is saying "what in the world am i doing up here? I think i said it out loud to john (in the photo, who is also a non-model friend of Kates, a grad student) and he said "it will be good thing to have done.". Monday, October 8, 2007.
