not just about cancer: June 2015
http://notjustaboutcancer.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html
Not just about cancer. One woman's stories, adventures, observations and rants, lived through and beyond metastatic breast cancer. Sunday, June 28, 2015. Update on the fly. I am finally feeling like myself again. I realized that today, in fact, despite the fact that I have a cold, gifted to me by my children. Since I last wrote, I had a wonderful week in Florida. I then attended my son's Grade 6 "leaving ceremony" and had treatment. I need to enjoy the normal. Links to this post. Monday, June 08, 2015.

Not just about cancer. One woman's stories, adventures, observations and rants, lived through and beyond metastatic breast cancer. Saturday, December 06, 2014. Please read and remember. Links to this post. Monday, December 01, 2014. I've never liked rollercoasters. Are you sitting comfortably? This is going to be a long one. I might have had a glass of wine with lunch. Which might identify a growing tumour, versus inactive, dead tissue). Oddly, I was not. I was definitely relieved but it all felt ant...

Not just about cancer. One woman's stories, adventures, observations and rants, lived through and beyond metastatic breast cancer. Monday, May 18, 2015. In 1991, Tim and I, newly in love, had just moved to Toronto. Very soon after, he left on a pre-planned trip to the West Coast of the US and Canada. When we were re-united three months later (an eternity when you are 24), I had my own home, my own friends, job and way of doing things. I want my husband! Poor Tim. He's stuck with me. Thanks to you all for...

At least it's a "good" cancer: February 2011
http://goodcancer.blogspot.com/2011_02_01_archive.html
At least it's a "good" cancer. Tuesday, February 22, 2011. Cancer is a frustrating, awful experience. In a world in which we all strive to be safe (airbags? So perhaps it's no wonder that so many people seem to channel their fears and frustrations into fury- at the doctors, the drug companies, and the researchers who are trying frantically to come up with new and better weapons in the fight against cancer. A couple of weeks ago, I noted with interest the New York Times story about lymph node treatment.
At least it's a "good" cancer: What's really important at Christmastime
http://goodcancer.blogspot.com/2010/12/whats-really-important-at-christmastime.html
At least it's a "good" cancer. Tuesday, December 14, 2010. What's really important at Christmastime. This is so beautifully said. It's a short piece by a Salon writer whose mother has terminal lung cancer, talking about the nature of love (versus commerce) and how Christmas brings out the sweet and the sorrowful. Brought tears to my eyes, and a profound recognition of truth. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Your Breast Cancer Blogger Today is. View my complete profile. Aboutcom Breast Cancer Site.

At least it's a "good" cancer. Monday, October 25, 2010. Awareness is great; how about some progress? At least it's a "good" cancer: _________ gave me cancer
http://goodcancer.blogspot.com/2010/07/gave-me-cancer.html
At least it's a "good" cancer. Friday, July 30, 2010. I've heard plenty of theories- many quite nutty- about what causes breast cancer. Obviously, we don't really know. For some reason, the incidence is much higher among women in my demographic- upper middle class, no pregnancies, history of birth control use, and whatever other lurking dangers are created by a privileged, professional lifestyle. I may not have lived in Marin County. But I seem like a model Marin case. Heating food in plastic containers.

At least it's a "good" cancer. Friday, August 06, 2010. What to do when diagnosed. No time for me to comment, but I just re-found a very useful CNN article on what to do when you're diagnosed with cancer. Brief and to the point. Links to this post. Wednesday, August 04, 2010. The new dangers of fructose. Yesterday, I read an article. Less so. Of course, high-fructose corn syrup was mentioned: because it so permeates industrial food production, could it be accelerating cancers? Links to this post. In the ...

Not Just About Cricket
Not Just About Cricket. My take on issues close to my heart. Tuesday, 26 October, 2010. Stop the paranoia about Kashmir. What is behind India's collective paranoia about Kashmir? Why is that each time Kashmir erupts, popular opinion in this country wants to crush that eruption, quell the voice that emanates from Kashmir, and drown among howls of self-righteous nationalistic indignation the Kashmiri clamour that cries out for a platform to be heard? Remember what we do during that time? Until someone ment...

Monday, 9 April 2018. Last Kick at the Can. We had a couple of things to pick up in Port Isabel this morning so swung by Sheepshead lots to see if anything new had flown in since yesterday.
