Not Too High, Not Too Low: June 2010

http://nottoohighnottoolow.blogspot.com/2010_06_01_archive.html

Not Too High, Not Too Low. Young and Type 1. We have decided to get pregnant, I've been logging my food and exercise religiously, I have given up beer, reviewed food logs with the dietitian numerous times, attended a CGMS. Class and had two hemoglobin A1C's of 7.0 in a row. ugh. I confided in my endocrinologist that I need more support. I need to be held accountable. Can I email her my logs weekly? Can she log into C arelink. Who is qualified to review my sugars how? Does not have a CDE. Nor a RN or APN.

Not Too High, Not Too Low: May 2010

http://nottoohighnottoolow.blogspot.com/2010_05_01_archive.html

Not Too High, Not Too Low. Young and Type 1. Less Than Six Percent. I scheduled an appointment with Dr. B, my endocrinologist, whom I like to work with, and took my husband along. I wanted to find out what I had to do to get pregnant, diabetes-wise. Once we had settled in and were finished looking my numbers over, negotiating and tweaking, I blurted out that I wanted to get pregnant. Should I meet with a high-risk OB now? Would she, Dr. B, still be involved? How low do my sugars really need to be? My hus...

Not Too High, Not Too Low: The Feel Good Doctor

http://nottoohighnottoolow.blogspot.com/2010/10/feel-good-doctor.html

Not Too High, Not Too Low. Young and Type 1. The Feel Good Doctor. I got a call from my doc today to review my most recent blood sugars that I had uploaded and amongst all of our conversation back and forth she managed to give a little praise. Me: I have a complaint from a type 1, I'm getting low too often and as a result, fat, I've gained five pounds from all of the sugar I've been consuming, can we do something about that? Doc: yes, I agree you have been low often, let's adjust XYZ. Young and Type 1.

Sugarbump diabetes, food, travel, and everything in between. Laquo; Diabetes bling. October 4, 2010. Last week, I came home to a large white envelope sitting on our doorstep. I looked at the mailing label, which had my full legal name. This must be important. The return address confirmed it: Rady Children’s Hospital in San Diego. My medical records from diagnosis through high school were in this envelope. I found all my lab values and made a timeline:. 02/24/1994 – 11.8. 05/19/1994 – 7.5. 10/27/2000 &#82...

I stop by Starbucks every morning on my way to work. It’s literally a block away from the office, so it’s been my go-to place for the past few months (I’ve even mayor of it on Foursquare, much to my friend Steph’s amusement– she’s trying to oust me, the nerve! 8220;Sure, what’s up? 8220;What’s that on your arm? Sugarbump diabetes, food, travel, and everything in between. Laquo; Retinopathy and a good A1C. September 18, 2010. If I’m going to wear something all day long, every single day, it better look good. I found a ton of sites that had customizable jewelry, but nothing really stood out to me. I wanted something bold but discreet at the same time. Finally, I hit the jackpot with My Flying Star. A San Francisco-based company (hey, Chris’ hometown! Bracelet. Thanks Sarah. For letting everyone know about it!

NOT-TOO-GOOD-LOOKING

Friday, January 23, 2009. He who asks is a fool for five minutes, but he who does not ask remains a fool forever". What is really the meaning of leadership? If a man cannot maintain the role of a leader, why does he pick up the role of a leader? My questions are quite funny or does not seem to be a serious one but after reading my story, it might make sense a little. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Not Too Hard Please. Certo Pada sull’Iren sarebbe ancora.

NOT TOO HOT

Sunday, May 18, 2014. We are announcing the closing of NotTooHot effective today. We have pursued the idea of a private club but have found that the idea as we conceived it does not work. Event attendance and Club attendance has remained very low for months. Rather than encourage performers to continue with an empty Club, we decided to close the Group. Thank you to so many of you who performed music, dance or DJing. You remain in our hearts. Thanks to all of you for going through this experiment with us.

A Simple Picture of Speciesism and Linked Oppression. October 3, 2016. October 7, 2016. The term “speciesism” is largely unknown to or misunderstood by the general public. The following post is not a detailed explanation of speciesism, but rather a brief illustration to help introduce the idea to some and clarify it for others. For determining pay, just as it is with race, ethnicity, sex, and gender. Denying a nonhuman employee equal pay for equal work based solely on species membership is speciesist...
