It's Not Too Late To Skate. Occasional comments by the speed skater at the back of the pack. She's BAAAAAAACK (and so is Liz's Dad). It has been a while since there was all that much to report. Liz has continued with her therapy and training, and was able to do a 500 meter time trial in late October. We're still watching to see how much the tibial nerve regenerates, but by Christmas the item at the top of her wish list was new Oakley goggles! Jerry Search took photos today:. Confessions of a Slow Fat Speedskater. It's all about Balance. Friday, July 31, 2009. Soreness and a breakthrough. I shooed them all home minutes before my friend Lisa. Showed up for our swim at Lake Desolation (coined Lake Destination by my daughter, who at 8 is still coming up with funny malpropisms). The tiredness was GOOD! The combination of riding and swimming did it, I finally hit on an intensity level that tired me out but didn't negatively affect my knee. This is tremendous. Sunday, July 26, 2009.
