Letters from Wetville: December 2014

http://lettersfromwetville.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html

The wet west coast of (Southern) New Zealand. Dancing, storming, moaning, laughing. Usually in the rain. Tuesday, December 30, 2014. Gillian dress by Muse Patterns. Gillian Dress by Muse Patterns. I have found sewing nirvana! I cut a size 40 for the yoke and a size 44 for everywhere else and no other alterations and it fits me! I'm going to make the dress version in a blue polka dot fabric next, and then I have a grey fabric and black contrast to make a winter version after that. Links to this post.

Life, but not as you know it...: Crispy skin duck

http://threekidlets.blogspot.com/2011/06/crispy-skin-duck.html

Life, but not as you know it. Tuesday, June 14, 2011. I love duck. Who doesn't really. The cost of buying duck is well out of our price range, and really not a necessity so I wouldn't do it. But my wonderful and ultra-talented Mum keeps Pekin ducks, the result, beautiful young doomed drake to eat and at the moment a good amount of duck eggs. Last night I took the opportunity to roast up a wee quacker - crispy skinned as of course. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. 5 days to go.

Life, but not as you know it...: What we've been up to

http://threekidlets.blogspot.com/2011/06/what-weve-been-up-to.html

Life, but not as you know it. Wednesday, June 8, 2011. What we've been up to. I looked today and realised that nearly two months has gone by without me updating this blog! So I thought I would give a pictorial overview. There has been a beach holiday. A baptism for Miss Meggie Moo. A class trip to our local Kauri forest. There was 2 weeks spent here. But at least we had a great city view at night! And since Mr T couldn't remember his trip to Auckland in this helicopter we stopped in on the way home.

Life, but not as you know it...: Our big girl's birthday!

http://threekidlets.blogspot.com/2011/06/our-big-girls-birthday.html

Life, but not as you know it. Friday, June 10, 2011. Our big girl's birthday! Miss Kei-te-pai has just turned four. She was very excited about her upcoming big day and would tell us everyday what cake she wanted, it changed everyday. Eventually she settled on cupcakes - wonderful and easy to whip up. The next day she wanted bugs. Bugs? But this is not so surprising as Miss Kei-te-pai is certainly not a girly girl (takes after her Mama on that front! So what could we come up with:. http://threekidlets.blogspot.com/2011/06/may-milo-kal.html

Life, but not as you know it. Friday, June 10, 2011. The Milo vest is brilliant, so versatile, very quick to knit up and super practical for hard-playing kids. I love it! The Milo turned 2 on June 6th 2011. To celebrate, the designer; the uber-talented Tikki. Organised a KAL (Knit-a-long for the uninitiated) for May over on Ravelry. I had a few to get done on my project list so used this as an opportunity to knock them out. Five in fact. Sent over for us. And we didn’t even use half of it Cadi! And the l...

Life, but not as you know it...: February 2011

http://threekidlets.blogspot.com/2011_02_01_archive.html

Life, but not as you know it. Tuesday, February 15, 2011. It's full-on tomato season here. Apart from the usual fresh tomato dishes I like to make sure that we have lots extra to get us through the year. I dump all the extra tomatoes into the freezer until I have enough to make a big batch of yummy tomato soup. We loooove tomato soup and I find that its really easy to convert into passata or pasta sauce just by adding garlic and herbs. This is my Poppa's recipe, so it is tried and true. Goes down a treat.

A Pathway to Healthy Living. As of 2013, the Nourishing Roots blog is no longer active. This website remains active as a resource for your inspiration and education. The time is here for all things fall, and I relish the days in San Diego where there is a slight crispness and coolness in the air. Pumpkin no longer feels pre-mature and neither does apple cider. Yesterday was a gorgeous day as some dear friends and I supported our friend Earth Mama. Coconut caramel and stewed apples. It was incredible.
