Day 150
http://novicevagabond.com/portugal/short/2016/07/20/leaving-lisbon.html
Around the World in 287 Days. Jul 20, 2016. While I hesitate to call an entire city ugly, I will say that I find it aesthetically disagreable here. And to people that think that Lisbon is beautiful, I think that we must have different tastes. Between the above and in some ways just not being into being in a large city, we’ve decided to cut our time in Lisbon short and make our way to Madeira Island. Where we hope to spend a lot of time on hikes like this. Around the World in 287 Days. A feminist, atheist...
Day 141
http://novicevagabond.com/portugal/long/2016/07/11/halfway.html
Around the World in 287 Days. Jul 11, 2016. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Spain. It was the first place on our trip that we’d strongly consider living here again in the future. Felt very much at home in the neighborhood of Triana in Sevilla and got in the flow going to the local market every couple of days for very good food. Mostly a lot of olives, cheese, bread and wine with some spanish tortilla (egg and potato concoction) mixed in. I didn’t take these since we didn’t bring the. I was tremendously...
Day 3
http://novicevagabond.com/japan/short/2016/02/24/day-3.html
Around the World in 287 Days. Feb 24, 2016. First impressions of Tokyo. Limited to but a single neighborhood. Ginza It is less crowded here than I would have expected and people seem to be in less of a hurry. I would have thought it would have been at least as intense as NYC or SF on those counts, but to the first limited exposure, its more relaxed here. In fairness, these impressions vanished as soon as we explored the Tokyo train station, which is a maze of frantic kinetic energy.

Around the World in 287 Days. Mar 20, 2016. This was an excellent book, definitely my favorite of the trip so far. Consider this amazing first sentence, which I consider not a spoiler because its literally the first sentence: THE MOON BLEW UP WITHOUT WARNING AND FOR NO APPARENT reason. One of the things that I really appreciated about. Coming to Our Senses. Around the World in 287 Days.

Around the World in 287 Days. Feb 25, 2016. Finished reading Greg Egan’s Diaspora. This was an incredibly abstract book. In fact, I feel like i need a word thats more abstract than abstract. It was also a bit slow in a number of places. That being said, there were some really interesting ideas afoot here. I think I enjoyed it more than most people would, so its probably a 3.5 or 4 out of 5 for meand i’d probably downgrade as a recommendation for others to a 3. Also, started reading:.

Boom Roasted!: May 2014
http://punky-pickle.blogspot.com/2014_05_01_archive.html
Wednesday, May 28, 2014. Massive amounts of credit for my team winning after a looong drought has to go to Ben. He was the one who suggested drafting Tony, someone I wouldn't have seriously considered if he hadn't pointed out all his dark horse-y virtues. Lo and behold, Tony came through big time! It's super exciting that the Pool Idol will come to live in our house for a little while! I'm very excited to see what Moon and Bee put together and am going to start scouting out a good place of honor where it...
Boom Roasted!: Episode 11 - Who doesn't like cheeseburgers?
http://punky-pickle.blogspot.com/2015/05/episode-11-who-doesnt-like-cheeseburgers.html
Wednesday, May 6, 2015. Episode 11 - Who doesn't like cheeseburgers? Soooo, this post is going up a little late. Sorry about that. Life. I'll do better this week. The blog for tonight's episode will go up by Thursday night (tomorrow) so get your comments in quick on this one. I'm keeping this episode's blog to the good stuff, but here's a quick recap since most of you watched the episode a full week ago. Tyler revels in the fact that Dan seems very loyal. That he has an idol and will be playing it for Sh...
Boom Roasted!: March 2015
http://punky-pickle.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Tuesday, March 31, 2015. Episode 6 - Impenetrable-ness. Wednesday concerts and gorgeous March weather weekends make it hard to be prompt with the Survivor blog. Luckily Monday nights and Tuesday's at work are there to catch up and drop some Survivor Pool bloggage. An extremely close reward challenge had the teams launching bean bags via a slingshot at wooden targets and easily segued into several "David vs Goliath" proclamations after the Red tribe posted a narrow victory. The Teams and Points:. This tea...
Boom Roasted!: Episode 8: The Resurrection of Maximillion
http://punky-pickle.blogspot.com/2015/04/episode-8-resurrection-of-maximillion.html
Friday, April 10, 2015. Episode 8: The Resurrection of Maximillion. Ten castaways remain, and just five have a legitimate chance of winning. Let's take a look at the remaining castaways and their chances of winning. If the remaining players played optimally, they'd finish off the Nos and then battle it out from there. But we're entering the stage of the game where players will start picturing the endgame, realizing they're on the outside looking in, and bust out some blindsides. If anyone decides...3 Wil...
Boom Roasted!: September 2014
http://punky-pickle.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
Monday, September 29, 2014. Survivor 29: The Draft. With all new castaways and a kind of new format, I'm excited to see what happens. While the first episode didn't reveal any crazy good schemers or just plain crazy people, fear not! I think it's extremely unlikely we'll get close to the record score Doug and Bri set with 208 points one season since we've added so many negative points this season, but we might see a new all-time low! Bag and Andrea "The Buffoons". Ben and Michal "? Moon and Melissa "?
Boom Roasted!: Episode 9: The Controversy of Maximillion
http://punky-pickle.blogspot.com/2015/04/episode-9-controversy-of-maximillion.html
Friday, April 17, 2015. Episode 9: The Controversy of Maximillion. The pool's landscape is rapidly changing from week to week. Two weeks ago we were first in Doug's power rankings and now we're clearly in last place. Last week's first place A to Z team has slipped to third after an unfortunate negative-scoring week, DouBri is in the mix despite a recent loss and a negative player and the Greenbergs top the list despite one of the shakiest non-Sanders, non-Richey drafts in pool history. 1 Shirin - 13.
Boom Roasted!: March 2014
http://punky-pickle.blogspot.com/2014_03_01_archive.html
Saturday, March 29, 2014. Survivor: Cagayan is quietly turning into an intriguing season. Most of the weak/stupid/douchey castaways have been cast away, leaving delectable inner fruit for us to enjoy down the stretch. Tony is the straw that stirs this concoction, and his asinine "Final Five" exclamations drew a line in the sand between the two tribes - just in time for the merge. It's amusing how quickly Brains' cerebrum has gained control of this game - without any audacious moves. There's no reason...
Boom Roasted!: November 2013
http://punky-pickle.blogspot.com/2013_11_01_archive.html
Friday, November 22, 2013. Blood v. Water: Ep 10. The rest of the tribe continues to do nothing. Hayden and Caleb especially need to put together some kind of plan for themselves, rather than going along with whatever Tyson tells them to do. No is going to vote for them if they make final tribal the way they're playing right now. 51st State: 83 pts. 1 Aras (38 pts). 2 Rupert (0 pts). 3 Marissa (3 pts). 4 Caleb (16 pts). 5 Laura M. (26 pts). AhhhhFUCKthat: 69.5 pts. 1 John (6 pts). 2 Laura B. (16 pts).
Boom Roasted!: April 2014
http://punky-pickle.blogspot.com/2014_04_01_archive.html
Sunday, April 27, 2014. It's a tight race in the pool this season, and for once that race doesn't include Moon or Doug! It's too early to be counting chickens, but I'm optimistic that someone new will be adding to the trophy this season. Also, we're thinking we should start calling it an idol instead of a trophy from now on. The idol finds, feints and plays were really exciting! 1 Sarah (19 points). 2 Morgan (13 points). 3 Tasha (18 points). 4 Spencer (17 points). 1 Tony (18 points). 2 Kass (4 points).
Boom Roasted!: May 2015

Monday, May 18, 2015. Episode 13 - Another one bites the dust. The last alliance has now officially imploded. Everyone is playing their own individual game now. Even with Mike still being a target. Carolyn and Dan both played the last "advantages" that were left. I'm guessing there are no more hidden immunity idols. Safety can only be found in immunity. The Teams and Points:. Parentheses indicate order players were picked). AndBag: "Maximillion" - 83 points. Max (2) - 3 pts] - out 3rd. Lindsey (10) - -1.

The Chinnar Chronicles
To touch, caress and savour the joys of nature you need to get close to her. This is the diary of a novice trekker. Sunday, May 17, 2009. Cleaning up at Chinnar. On the 3rd of May, 2009 I was supposed to be in Kodakarai. It's a small village far removed from civilization. I heard about it from friends in KANS, an organization working for conservation. KANS.
