Like every other kid, I thought my dad could fix any problem, had vast knowledge, and was braver than Superman. In my mind, Dad could do. He also handled all the scary things around the house (though he did occasionally coax me to do a scary thing). If I was in a scary situation though, I always wanted him nearby because his mere presence lessened the fear.

Sims' Family Blog: Has It Been Two Years?
http://johnandmeridithsims.blogspot.com/2011/07/has-it-been-two-years.html
Tuesday, July 5, 2011. Has It Been Two Years? Okay, I only said it in my own head.but it almost came out of my mouth. Me? You've GOT to be kidding me. Who will the boys play with? Who will be their friends? Who will be my friend? Now it's 2 years later. Even though I'm still not much for meeting new people-I have new friends. Words cannot describe the joy I felt when enrolling Conner last year at his new preschool and one of his teachers says-"I know you.didn't you used to live in Clarksville? My regular...

Tuesday, January 19, 2010. Yes that's snow-even in Alabama. This is from Dec. 5 (our first big snow-there's been another since). It melted within a couple of hours so the kids didn't get to play in it. Oh well. I had to move all the way to Bama to get snow. Go figure. Here they come to save the day! Mighty Aidan and Conner on the way! We had a great Christmas this year. After spending the weekend before with our C'ville families, we enjoyed a quiet X-mas eve and day. Wednesday, October 5, 2011. Yes folks, this is a jumping pillow. We bought armbands for the kids ($10 for both) for them to bounce all day.I think we came back 3 more times after this.much more crowded as day wore on. Watch Aidan's hang time! Much more subdued time in the haybale maze. John and I (along with an experienced helper) stood on a platform to help guide the boys out of the maze. Okay, to help Aidan out of the maze, Conner just followed big brother. Imagine that. Yes, even the Smurfs were there.

Thursday, June 21, 2012. Julia's eleventh month has come and gone.and we are on our way to birthday time! I'm having fun planning a little family get together to celebrate our daughter's first year of life. And so far, I'm living my new mantra as I mentioned in a previous post, "Don't cry because it's over. Smile because it happened! On her face. So fun! She's also learned how to crawl up the stairs, although she is pretty cautious about it. So much so that we haven't even put the safety gates up yet!
The Bee in Me: January 2013
http://thebeeinme.blogspot.com/2013_01_01_archive.html
Thursday, January 24, 2013. The first, and hopefully not last, snow day of 2013! We got about 1-2 inches on Thursday afternoon. The boys could hardly wait for it to start accumulating before they got out in it, pelting each other with wet snowballs and getting completely soaked. School was cancelled the next day. By then, an icy crust had formed on top, which was perfect for sledding down our driveway with the new saucer sleds that Santa had brought this year. But it made for a couple of hours of good fun.

Sunday, June 2, 2013. In my last post, which highlighted the events of our spring, I somehow completely forgot to include our camping trip! Friday evening wasn't bad. We and the Meases managed to get our tents and tarps up without any problems. Amy graciously made taco soup for everyone for dinner.which was soooo nice! And delish. Michael and Nat managed to get a campfire going in between sprinkles and the kids were able to make a batch of s'mores. What camping trip is complete without those? Seriously, ...

Tuesday, October 20, 2009. We spent Aidan's short fall break (Oct 8-12) in Pigeon Forge with my mom, brother Jon, Menda and Jevan, John's mom, Jason and the boys. Yes all of us. Not in one cabin, though (thank heavens). Aidan had a ball with his cousins and us. Here they are-from the left- Aidan, Conner, Cooper, Carter, and Cohen in the stroller. We were at the Aquarium in Gatlinburg. They had a great time, especially in the shark room. Here's one more pic-Grammy (my mom) took it quickly at the one time ...

And to Ethiopia
The Blythe Tryste Bunch. People have asked about our trip. I really cannot tell about it, really, without getting very upset. Fortunately for you, Reader, you'll be spared my red face, popping veins, and frantic tears. (A huge sigh.). I think that it's Rob Bell's writing style that aggravates me so, and here I am about to give him a nod. Ugh. The Bethany staff in Ethiopia is amazing. We were all so blessed by their hard work, passion, and care. Thank God for them! Please pray for them. Holy rain, Batman!
