Indigenous Artwork from the NPA. Drum Beat Will Call You Home. August 2, 2013. 8220;No matter where you are in the world, you will hear the beat of the drums through the Torres Strait, and they will call you home,” said NPA Artist Vincent Babia. Vincent is a Saibai Islander decendant, living in Seisia Community in the NPA. He continues to share the stories of his ancestors and his home through his art, dance and music. Vincent also works closely with his cousin Brett Aniba. To train and mentor the Seisia.

Indigenous Artwork from the NPA. NPA art is a unique infusion of the cultures present in the region. Our artists represent many different indigenous cultures and backgrounds, each telling not only the stories of their homelands and ancestors, but of their modern experiences too. Many artists from the Northern Peninsula Area operate out of the NPA Arts Centre, based in New Mapoon. The centre acts as a cultural hub, hosting art workshops from lino-printing, mozaic design and canvas painting.

We would watch them do carving and water painting, telling Saibai tribal stories passed down through generations. Every piece I create tells a story about our ancestors or our way of life. However there is one big difference between what we have now and what I'd like to have in the future. The "directory" is actually (on this website) a LinkList.
