NP constructies is een onafhankelijk adviesbureau op het gebied van bouwkundige constructies. Het bureau is in 2010 opgericht door ing. Niels Pino (1969), bouwkundig (hoofd)constructeur op het gebied van staal, beton, hout en metselwerk.

Naast de rekenregels moet de constructeur zich uiteraardhouden aan de natuurkundige wetmatigheden. Het natuurkundige deel waar de constructeur zich voornamelijk mee bezig houdt, is de statische mechanica. De constructieve onderdelen worden belast op normaalkrachten, dwarskrachten en momenten.

Traditioneel wordt een project ontwikkeld in 3 (hoofd) fasen, de ontwerp-, de bestek- en de werkfase. Elke volgende fase is verder uitgewerkt, bevat meer details en is minder flexibel. Bij elke fase is er een begroting te maken en is het project hier op aan te passen. Door tijdgebrek en economische factoren worden er steeds vaker fases overgeslagen. Helaas leidt dit in de uitvoering vaak tot vertraging en onnodig extra werk.

Staal is constructief het sterkste bouwmateriaal, het kan trek en druk opnemen. Maar bij brand verliest staal zijn sterkte en het materiaal is relatief duur. In de woningbouw zijn de houten kapconstructies niet weg te denken, houten vloeren en gevelelementen worden ook regelmatig toegepast. Hout is een ideaal bouwmateriaal: het is eenvoudig te verwerken, het isoleert en is esthetisch verantwoord. Maar de sterkte is beperkt.
